Biblical Considerations of the Antichrist Figure
There continues to be a flood of messages that declare who the Antichrist figure is, and yet very few of them document their findings according to the scriptures.
When one says that so and so is this figure, because they have received revelation in either a prophecy or a dream, then that revelation must be substantiated by biblical research.
Otherwise, those findings cannot be true nor trusted for their validity, no matter how passionate one is in their convictions.
Many will continue to put forth their findings with a spectrum of flashing lights and exclamations, but we must adhere rather to a foundational understanding so that we can arrive at a more solid conclusion.
I AM certain that many will still question and would rather follow the band wagon of the most popular prophets today, rather than doing their own research.
But as we know as Hosea has said, “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6.
These findings have run their course over the decades and longer declaring Hitler, Mussolini, Reagan, Pope Benedict XVI, Henry Kissinger, Mikhail Gorbachev, George Bush, Napoleon, Nero, and finally of course, Barack H. Obama II as the one.
The latest candidate is, of course, the one now being proposed throughout many channels of the internet and in other avenues. And yet of course, very few have examined their findings with the bible, unless it is through a convoluted combination of numbers, star charts and graphs.
Certainly there are factors such as arrogance, a propensity towards evil, and deceit, which play into the characteristics of a figure like this, but these traits alone cannot fulfill the needed narrative for the figure of the Antichrist, (From the Greek: ἀντίχριστος, antichristos, an-tee’-khris-tos).
The time is rapidly approaching for the fulfillment of many things, and yet we must remain vigilant in our approach to these things in examining them in the light of scripture and sound wisdom. Otherwise, our very foundation upon which we believe will become shaky at best.
Here below then, are several factors to consider when examining this elusive figure:
- The Antichrist enters into the temple in Jerusalem on at least one occasion, (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
At the mid-point of the 7 year period, known as Daniels 70th week, the Antichrist enters into a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, and sets up an “abomination that causes desolation.”
To put it simply, if there is no temple in Jerusalem, then we obviously aren’t anywhere close to the midpoint.
Such a structure would require a significant amount of time to construct, and even if they started right now, this figure would have long since fulfilled his last term in office by then.
- The Antichrist will cause the daily sacrifices to cease, (Daniel 9:27).
This one is like the first one. The Jewish “daily sacrifice,” was a specific type of sacrifice that was to be performed every day, twice a day.
Scripture tells us that this sacrifice will once again start up when the temple is rebuilt.
This person can’t stop something that hasn’t started yet, and so we must wait and watch for it.
- The Antichrist will be killed and die, and then, seemingly come back to life in front of everyone, (Revelation 13: 3, 12, 14).
This appears to be the reason that the people worship the Antichrist, not because of his smooth speech or anything like that, but because he seems to be resurrected from the dead.
- The Antichrist will have a “false prophet” who performs signs and wonders like calling fire down from heaven and making a statue of a man speak and kill those who do not worship it, (Revelation 13:12-15).
It sounds pretty sci-fi, but scripture tells us that the Antichrist has a miracle working partner.
These miracles that he performs are pretty specific, and this person also must be able to fulfill this criteria.
“His coming shall be after the working of Satan, with all power, and signs, and lying wonders,” 2 Thessalonians 2:9.
“He that ministers in his presence shall do great wonders, so that he shall make fire come down from heaven on the earth, in the sight of men, and shall deceive them that dwell upon the earth by means of these miracles which he shall have power to do,” Revelation 13:12.
“He shall have power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed,” Revelation 13:15.
- The Antichrist declares himself to be higher than God or anything else that is worshiped, (Daniel 11:36, 2 Thessalonians 2:4).
Many of these alleged figures could be accused of being arrogant, but it’s quite another matter to say that he has fulfilled these scriptures that say the Antichrist will claim to be, not just God, but better than God (Yahweh) or any god, or anything else that is worshiped by any people group.
This is an important consideration when forming our opinions regarding the anti-figure.
His characteristics:
Isaiah 14:14 Daniel 8:25 Daniel 11:36 2 Thessalonians 2:4 2 Thessalonians 2:4 1 John 2:22 Revelatonn 13:6 Revelation 17:3 | He shall say in his heart, I will be like the Most High. He shall stand up against the Prince of princes. He shall exalt himself above every god. He shall exalt himself “above all that is called God.” He shall show himself that he is God. He shall deny both the Father and the Son. He shall open his mouth in blasphemy against God. He shall be full of names of blasphemy. |
- The Antichrist causes the whole world to worship him or be killed, (Revelation 13: 8,15).
Some of these men have certainly asked for allegiance and have been concerned with how they are viewed by a larger audience, but most are a long way from forcing everyone to worship him or be executed.
- The Antichrist will cause the worst religious killing of all time, (Matthew 24:15-22).
The 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust will pale in comparison to what the Antichrist does.
Jesus is quite specific that the genocide of the Antichrist will be worse than any such killing the world has ever seen or ever will ever see.
- The Antichrist’s nation of origin is ruled by 10 kings prior to his début, (Daniel 7:7, 23-24).
It doesn’t matter if you think a person comes from Kenya or the U.S.A., or really anywhere else on earth at the moment, if they didn’t come from a nation which had 10 kings or 10 rulers, then they don’t fulfill the biblical requirement for the Antichrist figure.
- The Antichrist will “subdue” three of the 10 preceding kings by casting them down in a humiliating fashion, (Daniel 7:24).
If number 9 on this list isn’t true, then this one can’t be true either.
- The Antichrist will come from one of the four divisions of Alexander the Great’s Empire, (Daniel 8:8-9).
The four divisions of Alexander’s Empire are: the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, the Seleucid Empire in the east, the Kingdom of Pergamon in Asia Minor, and Macedon.
None of which contained, Kenya, Hawaii, or obviously, anywhere else in America.
- Shall honor the god of forces, (Daniel 11:38).
This figure shall not honor any god but only shall give allegiance to his power over armies and the military. He shall honor riches above giving tribute to any religion or belief.
However, this verse seems to allude to the idea of the Antichrist acknowledging a system of belief in a strange or unusual god, (Daniel 11:39).
Perhaps this may refer to an occultist form of worship,

There are other scriptural characteristics of this figure to be examined, but when we propose this person or that one as the candidate, then we must view them through the light of biblical research.
Otherwise, our findings are only then hearsay at best, and they lead others down a path of confusion and ignorance.
Selah,
~ Stephen Hanson
Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
I almost cry when I see that those who would understand don’t understand despite the answer is written right before our eyes and fully understandable.
Antichrist is the believer is the one who does not speak what he hears from the Father but speak his own ‘human’ words. Human ‘wisdom’ and ‘logic’ is antichrist.
Those deceivers are found in the body of Christ and are -by human doctrines and religious traditions, but not by the Holy spirit – claiming that they ‘know’ what God says in His Word.
They are most often found standing in the pulpits and preaching
‘about’ God, but not ‘from’ God!
Therefore 1John 2:18 says that the sign of the end times are that there are many antichrists. It began with one who twisted God’s Word and now they are many!
“(NOW)it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.2John 1:7
To not confess Christ is to speak ‘God’s word without revelation from the Holy Spirit, Jesus did not speak anything of Himself, only what He heard from the Father:
“Who is a liar but he denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that (by speaking his own words without a revelation from the Father) denieth the Father and the Son 1John 2:22
This is a much needed biblical direction. I hope many read it.
Bro Stephen, Thank you so much! We hear a lot on youtube videos ( many go there because there isn’t anything here being said about the EndTimes / antichrist etc
So bless you, and may there be many more Teachings on this End Time scenarios, esp with ‘wars and rumours of war’ proclaimed all over. Thank you again.
Thank you for your scripture-packed truths you have presented to point us all in the direction of God Almighty! Blessings to you brother!
