“And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners,”” Mark 2:17.

“And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh; then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.14 But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean,” Leviticus 13:12-14.

We all know of the massive hollow wooden horse which was constructed by the Greeks to gain entrance into Troy during the Trojan War.

The horse was built by Epeius, who was a master carpenter. The Greeks, pretended to desert the war, and then sailed to the nearby island of Tenedos.

They left behind a man named Sinon, who suggested to the Trojans that the horse was an offering to Athena (goddess of war) and would make Troy unconquerable.

Despite the warnings of a few others, the horse was taken inside the city gates. During the night Greek warriors emerged from it slowly and opened the gates to let in the returned Greek army.

Much has been said about how the huge wooden horse was brought into the city of Troy over the centuries, and the term has come to refer to how infiltration is introduced from the outside into another land, company, or other places.

In the late 20th century, the name, ‘Trojan Horse’ has also been applied to how deception can be used to disrupt or corrupt, computer programming or to steal personal information.

And now a Trojan Horse of epic proportions has infiltrated our land in ways that some of us aren’t even aware of. Through the use of political propaganda and distorted stories, many are persuaded that black is white, and hearsay is truth.

And this infiltration has now spread its ugly tentacles throughout many segments of our society, even reaching within churches, social groups, and into every area of the internet.

People who at one time were close friends now are at odds because of political preference, and the “horse” has been allowed to be opened into the gates where once there was kindness and love.

Now the disease has spread throughout the blood stream and tumors have formed where before there was healthy tissue. Once we start to mention names, we are quickly at odds with one another, and the ‘campaign” of what was at one time patriotism, has now raised the ugly flag of the tattered image of another bird.

And now this particular person has come to us clothed in the most deceptive Trojan horse, pretending to promise us great and wonderful things, which are now being seen as poisonous venom.

Should it be of any surprise that our ancient enemy comes in the night and emerges trying to find access through our gates?

Many of us have left the gates open, not aware of the fact that stories of deception and propaganda have allowed this to happen. The tasty morsels of half-truths and stories are quickly eaten, and then in time, one’s appetite for them compounds even daily.

But fortunately there is another diet that can help dispel the foul food from affecting the rest of the body if eaten.

The word of God is like a honey comb; its heavenly flavor can supply all of the necessary nutrients to make one healthy in body, soul, and spirit.

Just like the manna from heaven that the Israelites had eaten, it is available daily and we don’t have to pick it up off the ground, but only to find it in the word of God, and through His Spirit.

Quit the fighting with one another, and turn off the flashing lights that promise you another secret story of what supposedly is the truth.

Pray that some of us will find the needed discernment to see through the huge monolithic frame that has infiltrated our land. Otherwise, the Trojan Horse will continue to do his ugly work, and in time, the entire nation will fall.
