Betrayal
“Jesus said; “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.”” John 13:18
Jesus was referencing Judas when He quoted the psalmist, David (Psalm 41:9-10), who also in turn was writing about a similar experience.
Betrayal is probably one of the hardest experiences anyone can encounter in life, because it’s personal.
It happens when someone you trusted turns against you. However, when encountering betrayal; know that Jesus too, went through the same thing, and He set an example as to how we can overcome it.
In a conversation I had with my children (when they were all still at home), I said to them; “There are only two things you need to get through life: Love and Forgiveness. If you keep these two things close to your heart, you’ll never be conquered; you will always succeed.”
I went on to explain that forgiveness is a power that says to Satan; “I will not allow this person nor this situation to conquer me.”
True Love is unconditional, but builds boundaries and has rules that one must respect.
Above all, God is Love; and He gave His only Son so that we can experience forgiveness. Therefore, to obtain love and forgiveness is to experience the Father and the Son.
The love that Jesus had for Judas was the same power He had to forgive him.
I remember one day The LORD spoke to me and said, “Mena, I loved Judas. Even if he had come to the foot of My Cross, looked up and asked Me to forgive him, I would have.”
The key to overcoming betrayal is forgiveness. If this is hard to for you to process, just remember that we all betrayed Jesus: we all put Him to death.
But through His Sacrifice, we are able to be Redeemed.
So let them (the one who betrayed you) go!
Spiritual Food For Thought….
“Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.” Psalm 41:9-10

Mena, for the last few nights I have been having dreams about people betraying me. I woke up this morning just a little while ago and said to myself it’s amazing how almost every person in my life has betrayed me at one time or another, every single one. I grabbed a cup of coffee, opened up my laptop, and saw this post on Telegram. This happens to me often. I go through some struggles and immediately when I log onto Telegram (His Kingdom Prophecy) I see a post that is so specific to what I’m going through that I know this is how God is talking to me. Thank you for this post! I will work my hardest on forgiveness!
