Beloved, We Cannot Quit!
3 Words in 1
Make ALL Your Moments Count!
Today I have had a hectic day with so much to do… and I have a sweet dog that I have had for 16 years, and bless her heart, she wants to be with me all the time.
You see, back when I was so sick for so many years she was my constant companion, such a comfort. Well, today I’m trying to clean, maneuver the vacuum, move things and furniture and she’s always in the way. I love her, but really…
I hear the LORD say, “She just wants to be with you, you are all she knows…
In your business don’t forget about Me, too, I need your love like she does, don’t you know I love you? Don’t push Me away. Nothing is as important as you and Me.”
Make ALL your moments count… you only get one chance, one opportunity, and then it’s gone.
LORD, forgive us for turning away from You and others because we feel stressed, or that the moment needs too much of our own attention for what we are doing. Help us LORD!.
Don’t despair beloved, JUST DRINK!
I was just thinking this morning about when I first came to New Mexico ten years ago, and I had to get acclimated to the climate.
It is dry here, and at first, for several weeks at least my skin was so dry and I couldn’t get enough water to drink. I would ask women I would see what they used on their skin, and I tried all kinds of things, but I just had to get used to it all.
Now, after some time, my skin is fine but I find I am not as thirsty as I should be, and I have to force myself to keep up with drinking the right amount of water whether I feel like it or not.
Our Christian walk is like that. Sometimes we get dry in our walk with the LORD, and the things we used to do and the way we did it don’t seem to work anymore. We have to get acclimated to a new place with the LORD, and we don’t always understand our feelings and what is really happening.
God says, “We are trees firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever we do, we prosper,” (Psalm 1:3) but these streams of living water will not meet our thirst unless we learn to drink from them, and drink deeply, whether we feel like it or not.
And, we can’t go to others to try to figure out what to do, and what worked best for them, we must go directly to the water source ourselves, the Holy Spirit. Then, when the time is right, as you make more room for Him, you will begin to grow again and prosperity will come.
Don’t despair beloved, JUST DRINK!
Beloved, We Cannot Quit!
“And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway,” 1 Corinthians 9:23-27 (KJV).
Beloved, we cannot quit! We are in this together, this race for Jesus.
I wouldn’t enter a race here on this earth without a prize to run for, and there are all types of prizes. For some it is satisfaction of having run, for others a trophy or acclaim, and for others it is monetary. Such is life here on earth, and The Bible says this crown of sorts is perishable, will not last forever.
But there is a race that has all the benefits of winning an earthly race and more, it’s the race God has for each of us to accomplish His purpose and plan for Him.
But there is a difference in the prize, for Jesus it is an imperishable crown. No one can take it from you and it will be yours forever.
But we need to take care how we run this race. Like an earthly race there is preparation for it and rules to follow if you want to win.
First of all we need to prepare our body and our mind to win. You cannot enter a race thinking maybe you have a chance to win or at least place. No, wrong attitude! We enter to win, our bodies in top physical shape, with our minds and bodies trained in endurance, for losing is not an option.
For the Christian, we are given guidelines for winning:
- Be temperate in all things: We need to exercise self-control.
- Run with certainty aiming at the goal.
- Lastly, keep under your body (buffet) and bring it into subjection (make it your slave), lest when you have preached to others you would be a castaway and be disqualified, for the flesh is our greatest enemy, obedience must be first.
Beloved, don’t forget that Jesus is praying for you in this race, and you know what, so far He has not lost one the Father has given Him.
Oh, Victory in Jesus, don’t disappoint Him because He is counting on YOU!
God Bless You, you are in my prayers
