Believe Like A Child — Behave Like A Champ!
Several years ago, while going through a particularly fierce battle, for many days, I kept saying the following Scripture in faith like a child.
And I overcame…. like a champion! Hallelu-YAH!
“Moreover David said, “The LORD, Who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:37.
The lion and the bear metaphorically represent principalities and powers — the devil and his angels.
Like David, I was so sure of my deliverance because GOD delivered me aforetimes, and I was certain WILL do so again.
I still pray so FERVENTLY today. It was a confidence Paul had in GOD. He told Timothy:
“…Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion [the devil]. And THE LORD will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His Heavenly Kingdom. To Him be GLORY forever and ever. Amen!” 2 Timothy 4:17-18.
He also said to the Philippian Church,
“For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and The Supply of THE SPIRIT OF JESUS Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also CHRIST will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is CHRIST, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:19-21.
David made the above boast in GOD regarding easily taking down Goliath. He was assuring king Saul that he had killed lions and bears before. And, Goliath, although a giant, will be killed like an animal.
And that’s exactly what happened.
When we believe GOD with the simplicity of childlike faith and act on His Word with the confidence of a champion, we win!
Great faith is childlike (NOT childish), and gets GOD’s Attention to act immediately.
“Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “LORD, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And JESUS said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “LORD, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a Word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When JESUS heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!“” Matthew 8:5-10 emphasis added.
“Then JESUS called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter The Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3.
We must be like children in BELIEVING, but champions in BEHAVIOUR.
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from The Simplicity that is in CHRIST.” 2 Corinthians 11:3.
By THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, curse the serpent and his craftiness to not deceive you.
Satan is a fallen and defeated covering cherub. (He used to cover GOD Himself on The Throne but REBELLED! (See Ezekiel 28:14-19; Isaiah 14:12-20).
Therefore, declare his destruction by The Fire and Blood of THE LORD.
What finished Satan off is THE CROSS OF CHRIST. Hence, our boast, our confidence must be in nothing but THE CROSS to overcome him in every situation.
(THE CROSS means The Sacrifice of CHRIST, yes, The Shedding of His PRECIOUS BLOOD to redeem and deliver us from all the oppression of the devil).
Satan is a finished foe! He is easily overcome using THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
Sin is Satan’s sting; sin is the devil’s cord of control and oppression. But by His BLOOD, our LORD and Saviour took sin away forever. This was why He said on THE CROSS: “IT IS FINISHED!“ (John 19:30).
Therefore, no matter what your situation may be, when you engage and deploy THE BLOOD OF JESUS, you cannot fail! Victory is certain.
Whatever the problem, JESUS is The Solution. THE BLOOD OF JESUS is The Solution to every problem.
“His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, and he is caught in the cords of his sin.” Proverbs 5:22.
“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to GOD, who gives us the victory through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.” 1 Corinthians 15:56-57.
“Now thanks be to GOD who always leads us in Triumph in CHRIST, and through us diffuses The Fragrance of His Knowledge in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14.
Just genuinely repent of sin (personal, parental, ancestral), known and unknown. And then pray THE BLOOD OF JESUS to make atonement (covering) for your soul, (Leviticus 17:11).
And with persistent fervent prayer (Luke 18:1-8), THE LORD will come through for you.
GOD NEVER FAILS!
GOD is exceedingly GOOD! For overcoming in every situation, He always gives me a Word or two or three from The Bible. And when GOD gives me a Word in a situation, I keep declaring that Word night and day until I have the answer in my hand.
It is a HOLY SPIRIT-led warfare strategy that has never failed, and CANNOT fail.
To be able to overcome in this most perilous times, the least warrior we must be, is like David.
“In that day THE LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem [we who are in CHRIST JESUS]; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and The House of David [The Church] shall be like GOD, like The Angel of THE LORD before them.“ Zechariah 12:8 emphasis added.
Ask THE LORD for GREAT Grace, GREAT Faith, GREAT Power, GREAT Authority, GREAT Glory, GREAT Peace, GREAT Joy, to overcome.
Know our GOD. Have faith in GOD.
As written, “the people who know their GOD shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Daniel 11:32).
GOD NEVER FAILS!
JESUS CHRIST, the “Faithful and True” (Revelation 19:11), is helping us to be victorious! Therefore, be strong, do not fear! Fight on for The Glory!
Our FAITHFUL God will come through for you gloriously; just hold on. Continue to fight the GOOD fight of faith, wage the GOOD warfare.
An unfailing warfare strategy is worship. When we worship GOD, He releases His Power, Consuming Fire, Light, etc. for our victory.
It was a very important revelation David walked in for victory. Most worship songs in The Bible were written and sang by this royal psalmist and mighty warrior.
When thrown into maximum security prison, Paul and Silas prayed and worshiped GOD in the terrible affliction, instead of complaining, offended at GOD, or being dejected and depressed.
As they fervently prayed and worshiped GOD, suddenly, He released His Mighty Power and SPECTACULARLY delivered them:
“And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to GOD, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.” Acts 16:23-26.
Prayer, praise and worship will bring GOD on the scene to shake any prison you may be in, immediately open the doors, and loose any chains holding you bound.
This is because GOD is enthroned in our praises, (Psalm 22:3).
In this increasing warfare, we must choose to pray, praise and worship our way to victory.
THE LORD caused me to write this Word about four months ago, and has now permitted me release it because many believers are becoming disillusioned and discouraged.
We must NEVER give up! We must always have faith in GOD to come through for us. Hallelu-YAH!
Be encouraged in THE LORD.
GOD NEVER FAILS!
I leave you with that old Pentecostal song, “God Never Fails” by Charles Nicks. (I found this rendition by Friendship Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir):
God Never Fails
“God never fails, God never fails
He abides with me, He Gives me victory
For God never fails
Oh, just keep the faith and never cease to pray
Just walk upright, call Him noon, day, or night
He’ll be there, He’ll be there
There’s no need to worry for God never fails
I’ve seen trouble and I’ve seen pain
But I’ve learned to call on my God’s Name
He never left me, He never turned His back on me
For God never fails
My money was low and my friends were few
I found myself cryin’, I didn’t know what to do
But, I reached in my Word and then I was renewed
Because my God never fails
God never fails
God…
God never fails
(I want you to know that My God) No, my God never fails
(I’ve tried Him and I know He won’t…) God never fails
(He’ll be right there, yes, He will) No, my God never fails.”

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23.
“For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my Helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6.
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done The Will of God, you may receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:35-36.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1).
As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
