Being Called by the LORD?
Steve and I listened to Pastor Joe Sweet from Shekinah Worship Center together this morning for our church attendance.
We were gloriously “driven” to a rich time of prayer together after this. The message was as if the LORD handed him notes just for us to hear.
We’ve had a “longish” season the past few years, of helping others establish new lives, homes, ministries and businesses. For a season we felt to step back from accepting international ministry and travel invitations, as the LORD was making many adjustments and reordering of things in His Body.
We mentored and ministered locally. Much of it behind the scenes in quiet, safe, and sacred walls.
One clear thing that stands out to me as we’ve rested, listened and prepared is this…..
If those whom you labor/ work with can’t share the rewards, or need to be the one controlling all aspects of every situation or event, need YOU to back up their every move, must have total commitment to their vision…
…there will little room for producing sons and daughters in the faith.
This type of wineskin stems from places that fear the advancement of others, thus a loss of “workers.”
They hold to organizational concepts, or perhaps a checklist of expectations regarding including or inviting others into their tight circle. There’s little room to be free to make mistakes, thrive or rest.
It’s often cloaked in a laid-back presentation, but underneath the similarities of Saul lording over David. simmers….
Being called by the LORD requires cooperation with the timing and training in obedience that it takes. It’s pretty intense… and behind the scenes your flesh shreds!
Steve and I are aware that we aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, style, groove, expression etc..
We both walk with rather pronounced limps in the Spirit, having learned and having survived many land mines and pitfalls. But… The fresh stirring to “Do Good” and continue in the bond of commitment to be sent to nations and people is fully embraced with complete abandonment to our LORD’s will and mission.
Truly… we know it’s time ….
We see the new hallway of doors now opening as we enter it. For many reading this post, it resonates deeply inside of you .
You have been narrowed and realigned. Some relationships that took from you, used you, burned you out, controlled and then discarded you, were good training ground.
Great lessons were learned….. not to be repeated or to be used as a model.
We are aware, (as many others are) that a different day is upon the Church. Many will move closer to the heart and all consuming fire of God and sadly, many will stay on the fringe of it, still clinging to bitterness, laziness, entitlement, political influences and past victimization or hurt.
Nonetheless…
We prepare, study and listen CLOSELY.
We are gathering fruit to feed the bride.
We hear the call to “go”.
He is preparing the way, means and message.
In the meantime?
We wait, listen, allow Him “refiners rights” in our hearts, and do what is placed in front of us this day.
My friends in change….
…Now Is The Time.
It’s absolutely upon us.
“He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots,” 1 Samuel 8:12.
