Before You Can Love…
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
Before You Can Love…
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The lies holding you hostage must fall away
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The pain and hurt in your soul must be healed
Forgiveness must be given
Forgiveness that heals and sets one free
Before you can love, truly love…
Loose the wounds of bitterness and anger
Loose the wounds of rejection and trauma
Loose the wounds of brokenness
Ask the Holy Spirit,
He will show you how to remove it all
Look ahead, not behind
Do not be like Lot’s wife
Or the man with legion inside
Call down the dwelling among the tombs in your soul
Call down those monuments, those tombstones
Let the pain of the past go
Do not look back, break free!
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The lies holding you hostage must fall away
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The pain and hurt in your soul must be healed
Forgiveness must be given
Forgiveness that heals and sets one free
Before you can love, truly love…
Loose GOD’s Truth to replace the lies
Speak GOD’s Words without doubt
Wield His Mighty Sword with force
For He has not given you the spirit of fear
But the Spirit of POWER AND LOVE, AND A SOUND MIND!
Trust in Him…just trust…
The Power of His Love
Ask Him to clothe you
And make you in your right mind—
For His Love to heal your soul!
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The lies holding you hostage must fall away
Before you can love, truly love
Yourself, others and GOD
The pain and hurt in your soul must be healed
Forgiveness must be given
Forgiveness that heals and sets one free
Before you can love, truly love…
Ask Him to clothe you
And make you in your right mind —
For His Love to heal your soul!
“The religion scholar said, “A wonderful answer, Teacher! So clear-cut and accurate—that God is one and there is no other. And loving him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as you love yourself. Why, that’s better than all offerings and sacrifices put together!”” Mark 12:32-33 MSG
“They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain, for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him. And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.” So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.
The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs. And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region. As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.” Mark 5:1-20.
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15.
“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32,
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7.

“Let everything that has breath praise The LORD.” Psalm 150:6.
Do you feel like this is the most significant word you’ve ever shared?
Dear Kirk,
Thank you for such an introspective question. Every psalm the Holy Spirit gives me is important. They come out of my own walk with Christ as He reveals things to me about myself which then He uses to help others. This psalm came from an extended period of time of going through the refiner’s fire this past fall where the LORD showed me where the enemy had come into my life with lies— things that kept me going around the same mountain all my life. It is easy to say one should forgive, but getting to that place requires much surrender to God. It requires one to come to the realization that God loves us all. To look at a person and see Jesus in them—that He died for them as well. That we all have been deceived and hurt by the enemy. The most significant psalm, perhaps, as it shows how forgiveness is the key to opening the prison doors of our souls. To heal the broken-hearted and set the captive free and that the Love of Christ is indeed the Light of the World. Many blessings to you dear brother!

Oh, it’s so hard to forgive. Thank you for this. I would love to be in my right mind, haha, but those who hurt me just make me very crazy. I will try to continue to love anyway.
Dear Grace,
I am with you in prayer. Ask Him to help you and to show you how He sees those with whom you are having a hard time; Also ask Him for peace. Use His Word and declare it over your life. Declare 2 Timothy 1:7 over yourself every day or however many times you need to during the day.
You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28
Peace and Love to you.
Gabrielle
Amen
