Becoming Diligent and Staying Watchful
The other day I saw a story on the news about a criminal who was arrested and held in police custody. They had the young man handcuffed with his hands behind his back, and since his feet were not bound or shackled, he took off running and escaped. He was able to outrun the police officers while he was still in handcuffs. Surveillance videos show him running down the street as two law enforcement officers chased him. I had heard several days later that the man was still on the run. It is obvious that the police officers who were guarding him in the precinct were distracted, and those chasing him were not able to keep up with him.
A few days later, I saw a different story on the news of a man in a wheelchair who robbed a bank and had also got away. This man has not yet been found either as he escaped in the wheelchair. These incidents are actually true stories which happened a couple of weeks ago.
The Holy Spirit showed me that some of you are being robbed and vandalized by the enemy. You are being distracted and caught unaware, as the thief is intruding upon your life and plundering your goods. What you don’t realize is that he is also restrained and limited in what he could do to you.
Then the Lord brought me to the scripture in Matthew. “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.”
The Lord says,
“Many of you have let your guard down. You have allowed other things to dominate your life, which has produced fear and confusion and caused distraction. Readjust your thoughts to think on things that produce wholeness. Meditate on My word, which brings life. Speak My word no matter how difficult, painful or devastating your circumstances are in the natural.
As you do this, your thought life will align with My will and peace will once again rule in your heart and mind. Do not be led astray by anything that produces death and discouragement. Stay watchful and vigilant and don’t allow anything to distract you from your purpose. Don’t allow even debilitating situations take your focus off the Covenant that I have made with you.
Be cautious of who you allow to be a part of your life, and those who you allow to speak into your life. Never open the door for the enemy to get a foothold. As you seek Me for wisdom and guidance, I will show you what to do in every situation. Some of you are called to be watchman on the walls. As you stand your watch, the plans and tactics of the enemy will be made known to you. As you refocus, stand steadfast and attentive, then you will once again be aware of his strategies and discredit his actions.
Guard your life at all costs, and as you walk in this Covenant that I have provided for you, you will be able to rest in the assurance knowing that I will truly watch over My Word to perform it,”
says the Lord.
“My son, give Me your heart, and let your eyes observe My ways,” Proverbs 23:26.
“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters,” Luke 11:21-23.
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came. ‘And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first,” Luke 11:24-25.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings,” 1 Peter 5:8-9.
