Be Still!
“Be still and know that I Am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” Psalm 46:10-11.
I’ve realized that this Scripture is a strategic instruction of how to hear the voice of The LORD — in whatever form it comes in.
Whether it’s an audible word, a prophetic word, a vision, a dream, an encounter, a sign — the possibilities are as endless as He Is!
If we think we know how or even when we will hear (or see or perceive …) Him, He surprises us with His Creativity.
He constantly works to expand our minds and uses all He can to stretch our thinking to fit who He Is, not Who we think He is or ought to be.
He does the unexpected in the most beautiful of ways, at the perfect time, for the most enlightening effect possible.
He smiles and delights as our thinking is stretched to be able to take Him in, in new ways, in an ever-upward spiral of the revelation of Him.
For to know Him is to love Him, and to love Him is an eternal journey of discovering the new and beautiful that will never end!
We have the security of an eternal God Who is our Friend, King, Father, Husband, Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer … He Is everything! And He Is Everything forever! Amazing!
For those who have suffered loss in this world, He Is NEVER lost to us; for those abandoned, He NEVER abandons; for those abused, He Is the Healing Balm of the soul that makes all things new; for those alone, He Is closer than our breath; for the sick, He Is the Great Physician.
We cannot understand with our minds His Eternally Infinite Nature, but we can know, choose to know, that His Love for us is immovable, unshakable, never-changing, unconditional.
He’s loved each of us the same way from the beginning of our existence, whether we knew Him or not. If we understand nothing else, that alone is enough!
As the earth is rocked and shaken by the storm we are currently in, we know He Is our Shelter.
Much of what we see and hear is the bluster of a losing adversary who is no longer able to deceive as he once did, nor manipulate as he once has.
So be still before the King. In the stillness you will begin to perceive Someone much bigger than yourself.
Then, with the help of The Holy Spirit, move toward Him and you will find Him. Praise for our Almighty, Loving God is sure to follow.
One day when Jesus takes us to meet our heavenly Father in Heaven, we will realize He Is very familiar, because He’s been with us and all around us all of our lives on this earth, in the midst of everything.
We will realize that He is, and They Are, and always have been, the Great I AM!
May you encounter Him afresh every day!
Love,
