Attack is the best form of Defense
“I think that anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state today and evacuate lands is giving attack grounds to radical Islam against the state of Israel” – Benjamin Netanyahu’ actual, documented pre-election statement that has been blatantly misreported by the media as the prime minister’s rejection of a two state solution, a falsification deliberately perpetuated by Barack Obama.
With the rash of recent recriminations concerning the ostensible flip-flop of Israel’s prime minister, conveyed through the disseminated misrepresentation of his pre-election remark (above), that he will not agree to the creation of a Palestinian state on his watch, and the ensuing media-led frustration of efforts by the Prime Minister’s Office to spell out what he meant, (that under the circumstances that have developed in the Middle East, and with Abu Mazen’s embrace of Hamas, Israel can in no way at this time pursue the universally demanded ‘two state solution’), Israel should move in the offensive rather than attempt to explain and defend the prime minister’s words.
Israel’s spokesmen should berate those asserting that the prime minister’s “new stance” gives cause for reassessment of relations with Israel’s government and justifies applying more international pressure on Israel. These spokesmen should insist that it is their contenders’ responsibility not to blame Israel – the only true democracy in the region – but rather that PLO chief Abu Mazen’s cooperation with the Hamas terrorist organization, and other unilateral PLO actions, have produced the present rift and the obstruction of the so-called peace negotiations.
So why do the nations, who say that they so earnestly desire a solution to the so-called Israeli-Palestinian conflict, not upbraid the PA leadership – in public – (as they do to Israel) for repeatedly failing to pay any price or make any compromise for this peace, but instead, each time, obstructing all the most far-reaching offers made by the previous Israeli governments under prime ministers Ehud Barak and Ehud Olmert all of which were nastily rejected – not by Israel but by the PA leadership themselves?
Why don’t we hear President Barack Obama and other Western leaders really stand up for a genuine Middle East peace by blaming – in public – those who in their words and deeds do everything to prove to the Israeli people that there is no true wish for peace on their side, only a determination to utilize the nations to impose a Palestinian state on Israel that would undoubtedly be used to terminate the existence of the sovereign Jewish state?
They, should be scolded, not Israel.
