Arise My People Arise!
I heard the Holy Spirit saying this morning, “Arise My people arise!”
He is saying, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee,” (Isaiah 61:1) When the LORD anoints His people to do a work you don’t have to worry about what man thinks or whether or not you will be accepted, because no man has ever fought against God and prevailed.
Jacob wrestle with the angel until the break of day, but it was not because he was in opposition with God, but it was because he wanted God to bless him. You see, to wrestle means to fight and to overpower by holding on.
I hear the Holy Spirit saying that many of us are not allowing God to bless us, because we have not submitted to the process.
Just like Jacob who was constantly trying to fix things himself; instead of allowing God to work in his life he lied and tricked his brother on several occasions. And, he did not know what it was to be honest and authentic (love) with his brother, because he had the wrong mind set and he was taught by his mother to scheme and to have the upper hand on his brother instead of showing love.
People of God, success is not everything! The Bible says that iron sharpens iron; so one person sharpens another, (Proverbs 27:17).
But, Jacob failed to see it that way, because he had come down through a blood line of tricksters in his family.
You see, many times people who have mentored us and or birthed us have taught us not to trust in people and that everyone is out to get us but what we need to understand is that if we look closer we might just see that maybe it is you; yourself that is out to trick and to deceive others! Just as Jacob did!
Jacob demonstrates his role as trickster as he tricks his brother out of his birthright and his father’s blessing, tricks his father into blessing him instead of Esau, tricks his uncle out of his best cattle, and attempts to trick his brother again when they meet years later.
He is also, in turn, tricked by his uncle Laban into serving fourteen years for Rachel when Laban secretly presents Jacob first with Leah.
Come on somebody, the Bible says we shall in deed reap what we sow! If you are sowing bad seeds get ready because you are going to have nothing but thorns and weeds growing in your garden!
The LORD is calling for His people to arise, for thy light has come! It is time to let the old man die in order that God might bring you into destiny! Jacob had to realize that he could not continue tricking and deceiving others as he had done in time past, because it was hurting him and his relationship with those around him!
And, until he did he would not and could not walk in true destiny as God had purposed for him! You see, Jacob begin to realize that he needed more than just an inheritance, but he needed something more: a personal relationship and encounter with God something that he did not have! This is why he became so persistent with the man he wrestled with!
The Holy Spirit is speaking that when we get tired of ourselves and truly get down to business then and only then can God begin to bless us and take us into true destiny! So, when the man (angel) saw that he could not overpower Jacob, he touched the socket of his hip and it was dislocated. This man being an angel of God touched the socket of his thigh failed; as a result he tried to discourage Jacob by dislocating his thigh out of socket, but Jacob was desperate for a blessing and would not let him go!
And, though Jacob was now limping, he did not let the man go. So the man said, “Let me go for it is daybreak.” Jacob answered, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man asked, “What is your name?” he said, “Jacob.” The man then said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.”
Jacob called that place “Peniel” because he saw God face to face and yet lived to tell about it. As he went to be with his family, he walked limping, (Genesis 32:24-32).
Come on somebody, I sure hope somebody caught this!
Instead of fighting against God and others it is time to arise and to fight the real enemy: yourself! Self needs to die! For, thy light has come and God is calling his people into true destiny, but like Jacob we are going to have to begin to put the flesh to death that still wants to arise and to take what does not belong to us!
I hear God and he is calling for a remnant of people who are ready to give up the flesh; in order to walk as an army for the LORD and no new name can be given unto those who are still walking in the flesh and the old wine skin begin to have a personal encounter with him!
