Arise and Shine
There are several times in the New Testament where Jesus raised people from the dead commanding their bodies to arise.
In the book of Luke, Jesus touched a coffin and said to the dead man, “Young man. I say to you “Arise.” The dead boy got up and began to speak.
This word “arise” is the same exact word which He used when He raised a young girl from the dead in the book of Mark.
The word for arise means to awaken, raise up, stir up and recall the dead back to life. When He raised Lazarus from the dead he was bound with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth, Jesus said to him “Lazarus come forth”.
We are coming into a time when grave clothes are going to be loosed and the dead are going to be raised once again.
We are in a season of a major clash of the kingdoms. The kingdom of darkness is trying to take control, but God is going to intervene and release His glory in an unprecedented way.
The wind is going to change direction and the body of Christ is about to “Arise and Shine” with the glory of God.
Jesus is about to quicken those who have become ill, weary, and burdened. There is a tenacity that is rising up in those who have come face to face with the enemy.
The adverse situations have created a strength within you. You have learned to master anxiety and refused to give in to fear, and many will be inspired by your testimony
In Isaiah 60:1-3 the word “arise” is quwm קוּם, (qûm, koom) which means to stand up, come on the scene and become powerful.
The word “shine” is ‘owr אוֹר, (‘ôr, ore) which means to become light, become bright, and illuminated.
The word “Glory” is kabowd כָּבוֹד, (kâbôd, kaw-bode’) which means honor, splendor and glory.
It goes on to say that the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people, but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. God is raising up a company of people to carry His glory into the dark places.
The ears of those who are spiritually deaf will hear, and the eyes of the spiritually blind will receive sight and insight.
Now is the time that the creation is waiting in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Arise and shine!
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising,” Isaiah 60:1-3.
“Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement,” Mark 5:41-42.
“Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go”” John 11:43-44.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God,” Romans 8:19.
