“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God,” Ephesians 3:14-19 (KJV).

This, I believe, is the scripture of the hour we live in. It is what you need most to understand and grasp.

As you bow the knee to the Father, and seek His face for the deep longings of your heart, by asking Him what is on His heart, He will strengthen you inside for His mission. As you delight to do His will He will give you a gift of strength.

Where is this inner man? It is your will, your mind, your emotions, your very soul. This is where you work out your own salvation.

What Christ came to do is finished, you are a new creature in Christ, the old has passed away, and now all things are new. He sees you beloved, in your sanctified glorified state, and the Holy Spirit inhabits your spirit. You can be confident that what He has started in you, He is finishing and will finish. Take courage!

This is something that cannot be done without the Holy Spirit working in your inner man, on the inside. It’s about seasons… seasons to bear fruit, seasons to grow and work, and seasons to wait and gather faith.

Take courage, God has not left you to do this alone, in fact He has set you in a broad place so you can stand. He made the seasons and His purposes for you in them…don’t despise small beginnings or long endings. Take time to strengthen your inner man!

1 Peter 1:8-9 says, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, EVEN THE SALVATION OF YOUR SOULS.”

Our Spirit is saved, oh but the soul… that is where the work must be done on attitudes, and motives, desires yet unholy. I believe this is the very heart of His great work. Yes, it is His work. As you bow the knee to Him, and choose obedience, major changes are taking place in your inner man.

I met a woman at one of our tent meetings some years ago, and she wanted to take me to lunch. After we sat down at the table to enjoy this lunch, she started to confide in me that she was a closet smoker. She did it alone, and not many people knew she smoked… but no matter what she tried, she just couldn’t quit.

“Maybe you need to stand up on the inside,” I said. She looked at me and said, “I don’t know if I want to be your friend or not.” Wow, what an answer from the Holy Spirit. Are you standing up on the inside? Would this be an easy task for this woman, NO!, but with the help of the Holy Spirit she would gain strength and courage as she trusted the LORD and held to the course all the way through to victory.

It is the same for you, you have to learn to lean on your Strengthener and Standby. The Amplified Bible says He indwells your innermost being and personality, the real you. He’s the one forming Christ in you.

It is the Holy Spirit that strengthens you with His strength for each day, so that faith may replace fear, that faith may replace hopelessness. You see, as you believe and study His word, your roots are growing deeper and deeper in the love of God. If you are not continually reading His love letter to you, this love will wane and wax cold in you.

As you read this love letter He has written to you, He reinforces that love through His Spirit. He says this love “passeth knowledge.” It is beyond our comprehension. In this perfect love we must be perfected, we must be grounded.

An electrical plug must be grounded to be perfectly safe to carry a strong current of electricity. Beloved, we have the most Powerful and Almighty God within us, wanting to flow through us to a lost and dying world… and we must be grounded in His love, knowing who He is and who we are in Him, or we will not make it through these times without fainting or turning away from Him.

He has already warned us of the “great falling away” that will occur in the tribulation, where many saints of God will not understand the circumstances when things will get tough. And, because they are not grounded in Him, they will question His love for them. Look up for your redemption draws nigh… be warned again Beloved.

On 9-11 I heard this word from the LORD God, “Hold tight for the days are few before the tide changes. We are headed for a fall of large proportions. The only safe place is up under My wings, I AM PEACE, EVERLASTING JOY AND HOPE! Restitution is with Me, stay clean and I will lead you along…”

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal,” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (KJV)

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me,” Philippians 4:11-13 (KJV).

“Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith (your conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it). Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength!” 1 Corinthians 16:13 (AMPC).
