Are You Blossoming or Slowly Being Withered?
Dear Friends in the War:
The last two weeks have been filled with warfare creating the need to take a deep breath and keep going. We are in a land and boundary war on the property on the north side of Denton. That investment is key to our future. Here at the Global Spheres Center, we are dismantling the large water tower that is a landmark in this region. Pam’s article below on Rose Rosette is so informative . I gave a word on November 2, 2014 about this July:
“Today is a new day of your covering. You’ll remember this come JULY of next year when the circumstance around is hot and narrow. You’ll remember this as you walk in the turmoil that will occur. You’ll say, ‘Woe, wait a minute!’, I’ve already walked through this and will win this war!”
Rose Rosette, or “The Witch’s Broom of Rose”, is so insightful. I feel that many are being bewitched! Galatians 5:7 says, “You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? … A little leaven leavens the whole lump!” Pam’s article reveals what one airborne mite can do to a whole plant that is blossoming!
Witchcraft actually sends a word with a person’s name through the air to produce a wrong thought or control pattern in a person, thus capturing one’s freedom to worship. One word, thought or action that enters a person’s thinking can cause a decay to begin. This is a time to capture all of our thoughts and turn into a new place of freedom and liberty!
Paul talks about this in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.
This is a season of pruning and uprooting! I decree that you will BLOSSOM! The pictures reveal much!
“4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled,” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV).

Are You Blossoming or Slowly Being Withered? The Power of the Witch’s Broom Against the Rose! by Pam Pierce.
Several years ago, I read an article in a Christian magazine comparing viruses to sin. Although I don’t remember many details about the article, the comparison has stayed with me. Viruses can invade, weaken, and debilitate a person. After being barren for 10 years and being healed, while I was pregnant with our first child, some way I was invaded by three of the five TORCH SYNDROME viruses. Just one of these viruses can deform the fetus. God, in His grace and love, protected both Rebekah Faith, who was in my womb, and me, and we both miraculously overcame the attack. My Catholic doctor wept when the child was born healthy. I had to learn much from this circumstance.
I love the Israel Prayer Garden. I love gardening, but God’s Presence is so strong in that place. However, something happened that I feel is important for each of us as we walk through the narrow places that we are presently maneuvering. My recent encounter with a particularly nasty virus affecting roses here at Global Spheres Center has reminded me of the similarities between viral infections and the insidious effects of sin in our lives.
Rose Rosette Disease is a virus or virus-like disease that is spread by a tiny mite. This wingless mite travels passively on the wind and transmits the disease to the non-native (and quite invasive) multi-flora rose, as well as to cultivated garden roses. Also known as “Witch’s Broom of Rose”, this virus has no proven treatment, even though there are recommended steps for dealing with it. These steps range from hope-filled organic treatments to ripping the affected plant out of the garden and discarding it in the dumpster!
The earliest symptoms of rose rosette disease include a red pigmentation of the leaf veins followed by a sharply increased growth of vegetative shoots which are typically more succulent than normal and colored in various shades of red. Leaves will become deformed, crinkled, and brittle with yellow mosaics and red pigmentation. As the disease progresses, leaves become very small, petioles are shortened, and most lateral buds begin producing short, intensely red shoots. The disease weakens the plant significantly and makes it more susceptible to freeze damage. Symptoms on cultivated roses are typically less severe than on multi-flora roses. Cultivated roses show symptoms of thickened stems and a proliferation of thorns.
Transmission of the virus usually occurs between the months of May through mid-July. Symptoms from new infections usually start appearing in mid-July. In general, smaller plants go through the disease stages more quickly than larger plants. Small plants are usually killed in about 2 years, while a large plant may survive for five years in a deteriorated condition.
My first introduction to Rose Rosette involved a lovely, climbing white rose in the Israel Prayer Garden two years ago. At the first sign of the characteristic symptoms, I pruned the affected branch down to the base of the plant and used a series of organic treatments. Then I waited. The following spring, the new growth on the rose again produced the twisted witch’s broom deformities. When that happened, I followed the more drastic step and removed the entire plant, discarding it in the dumpster.
Since that first encounter, we have diligently watched for signs of Rose Rosette Disease throughout the Global Spheres Center landscape. To date, we have removed five other roses that didn’t respond to treatment. During that same time, we have also taken authority over the disease and seen roses rebound, prosper, and blossom.
Through this entire experience with rose rosette, I have seen two seemingly dichotomous concepts: the concept of faith overcoming disease and destruction, and the concept of “if your right hand offend you, cut it off”! This is where a more thorough understanding of the viral mechanism comes in handy.
In Rose Rosette Virus, the mite introduces the virus into a branch of the rose plant. The virus then works its way into the vascular system of the plant and travels down to the crown, or base, of the plant. From there, the virus can travel into other branches of the plant, infecting the entire rose. If the gardener is vigilant and cuts out the offending branch before the infection travels down to the plant’s center, the rose may avoid further infection and live on in health and prosperity. However, if the gardener is unobservant or overworked, he or she might miss the telltale signs of the virus and lose valuable time, thus allowing the virus to gain a foothold and overtake the plant entirely.
Our experience with this virus at Global Spheres Center has shown us that vigilance can only go so far. Often sin finds an inroad, plants a seed of corruption, and overtakes an organism. When that happens, and we are too late to cut out the offending branch, we must throw ourselves upon the mercy of a loving, compassionate Father who longs to see us healed and set free from the sin that so easily besets us.
Isaiah 61 says this: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
We are the planting of the Lord, called to glorify our Father. When sin attempts to gain a foothold in our lives, to enter our vascular system and infect our entire being, we must be vigilant to cut out the offending part in order to preserve that which remains. We cannot lose sight of the goal. We are called to glorify Him.
Blessings,
Chuck D. Pierce
