Are you a Dead Sea?
The Dead Sea is got its name because it’s just that, a Dead Sea. Nothing lives in it because the density of the salt kills everything that swims. The surface of the Dead Sea is over 1,300 feet below sea level. The very bottom of the sea, in the deepest part, is over 2,300 feet below sea level. The Dead Sea has some of the most saline water on earth; as much as 35% of the water is dissolved salts! That’s almost six times as salty as the oceans!
All roads lead to the Sea, when it comes to the rivers in the area. The Dead Sea is continually fed water from the rivers and streams coming down off the mountains that surround it. But the kicker is this…. no rivers drain out of the Dead Sea. The only way water gets out of the Sea is through evaporation. And boy does it evaporate! When the water evaporates, it leaves behind all the dissolved minerals in the Sea, just making it saltier.
There are thousands of western believers that remind heaven of the Dead Sea, having become professional students. Studying, for years and years, to the extent that they are eventually controlled by a lust for knowledge. This lust for knowledge of My word moves them so far off course that they desire knowledge for knowledge sake. This lust can take them to a place where they can no longer communicate with the average person, about daily issues.
Like the Dead Sea, rivers of knowledge flow in, but nothing flows out. Their whole life is filled with conferences, special classes, seminaries, seminars, night school, BA’s, MA’s, and PHD’s and DDs. All this knowledge about spiritual things flows into the head, and evaporates, leaving nothing to flow out to the heart. Professional students are “ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of what My truth is really for!” 2 Timothy 3:7.
Degrees are wonderful in lives of those who understand that, “to whoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom teachers have committed much, of him I will ask that much more,” Luke 12:48. Men and women that are called to dig deeper than most of the body, realize that their titles have no value in the kingdom. Those who understand this, are pillars in My church, called to keep My word pure from generation to generation and My people from wandering off into heresy.
But like the Dead Sea, the students that go deeper and deeper and deeper, for deeper sake, with no outlet to the lost, become so salty that nothing can survive around them. They can boast of their great knowledge about Me, but they have no life! They are void of life because they only go deep in the letter, lacking understanding that “the letter kills, but it’s My Spirit that gives life,” 2 Corinthians 3:6.
My Spirit is like fresh water that dilutes the salt and let’s it flow into the heart in just the right consistently. The transformed heart then spreads it throughout the whole earth. When the Spirit takes you deep into My truths, He will cause you to continually spread the salt out to the lost, and that’s when you will be known as, the salt of the earth!
Always remember, if the salt has lost My Spirits penetrating power, the earth cannot be salted, “it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men, along with all the titles,” Matthew 5:13.
Study, yes absolutely, I want everyone to go as deep as you can and get all you can get, but, “with all your getting, with My Spirit, be sure to get understanding,” Proverbs 4:7.
Sure, you may know Greek, and Hebrew with all it’s tenses, but can you say, “I love you,” in English, to your neighbor who’s dying? That’s when heaven sees you as the salt of the earth, and hands you a CA degree! Christ Ambassador.
If you love Me you’ll keep everything flowing today!
