Are We Willing to Die to Self?
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” John 12:24-25
Our life with Christ requires us to bear fruit.
But in order to bear that fruit, we must first be willing to die to self.
The Scriptures tell us that He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).
So why is it that so many find themselves stuck in the same loop five, ten, fifteen, twenty years into salvation?
The answer is simple: they haven’t come to the end of themselves. They are still in love with ‘this life.’
Once you come to the end of yourself, you die to YOUR will, what you and the world deems you have the right to have.
You denounce your citizenship of this world and life: ONLY then can Christ’s will can be done in you. And His Will is perfect; it is fair, and will produce much fruit.
Jesus became the Passover Lamb, and died for you, because He loves you [still] and wants a relationship with you [in totality].
But once you accept this invitation; the offer of eternal life with Him, the question is, “Will you now die for Him?”
“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; ” Philippians 1:6
Happy Passover — Resurrection Day!
