Are we Seeking God’s Heart or His Hand?
Are we seeking God’s heart or His hand?
Do we really serve God with our whole heart?
If yes, then why is it that we will accept the Word of The Lord when it speaks of blessings, prosperity or wealth, but when God sends a word concerning sin, repentance, or rebuke we ignore and reject it?
Is it that we want the blessings from God’s hand instead of seeking to please His heart?
Is it that we want to live a life that pleases ourselves and our flesh, without having to sacrifice and die to our sins and live a life of holiness?
We have to ask ourselves if we are really seeking to please god’s heart or just selfishly seeking blessings from his hands.
The Lord wants us to be righteously positioned so that we may receive His promises and blessings. He wants our hearts to be aligned with His heart and with His will so that we can be truly ready to receive the blessings……
He will not settle for a lukewarm and unrepentant heart! A lot of unanswered prayers are the result of hidden and unconfessed sin in the lives of the people, and God will not bless you unless your heart is positioned in Him to receive from Him. (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Many Christians today fail to realize that faith without works is dead (James 2:14). Some of us do not consider our walk with God a priority, until financial lack and destruction enter into our lives, and then we are ready to turn to God for a “quick fix” but not with the mindset of truly repenting and turning away from sin – but instead, a mindset to return to our old ways of selfish and sinful living if God does indeed come to our rescue.
But be forewarned, so that we are not deceived, and just know that God knows all and He sees all. God is not and will NOT be mocked; so whatever we sow in life, is what we will reap in life (Galatians 6:7).
The gift of God is eternal life, but the wages of sin is death be it physical, or spiritual loss (Romans 6:23). Now we understand that the Word of God is talking about the physical eternal death of man away from God, but sin also causes us to lose out on the blessings and the covering of god in our lives for our finances, our marriages and relationships, our children, our jobs and careers, our physical and mental well being and many other areas of our lives where god protection covers us.
Furthermore, in order to live a life that is pleasing to god, is to live a life of holiness without wavering, half-stepping, and without hypocrisy and willful sinning. God desires that we live our lives according to His holy Word and His holy laws. And there is no way around living holy. Many of us want to carry the title of Christian, saint, child of the king, but we do not want to change our ways and totally repent and commit to God!
Spiritually speaking, there is nothing wrong with being blessed and ready to receive from The Lord as The Lord has promised great blessings and prosperity to many of His people all throughout history. But be reminded that God knows the heart of every man and he blessed those who were truly living a life that was completely submitted, committed, dedicated, and pleasing to Him; and too, he also gave them the wealth for His purposes and His plans. It was not given for self indulgence, to live the high life and to only buy material possessions, but it was always for a higher purpose for the up-building and to further his kingdom (1 Kings 3:13).
And if we really look at the situation through the Word of God, if God allowed most of us to amass great wealth and riches, most souls would be eternally lost because most would not listen to God and would feel that there is no need for Him because they would serve their wealth, rather than God (Matthew 6:24).
Therefore God’s Word speaks that great wealth would cause some to self-destruct and pull away from God rather than draw closer to Him (2 Timothy 3:2). This is why when God is ready, He will bless those whom He has tried and can trust with wealth to live and do according to His will and his instructions (Job 23:10; Genesis 13:2; 41:37-39).
Truthfully speaking, the only way to holiness is God’s way or there is no way. God desires that we will either choose to be hot or choose to be cold, because being lukewarm and straddle the fence is hypocrisy to God and it makes Him want to literally vomit us out of his presence! (Revelations 3:15-16) as a result, when God casts you away from his presence, then the enemy of our soul has the opportunity to destroy, kill and cause chaos and confusion in our lives (John 10:10)!
So what will it be? Will we accept the will of God and seek Him wholeheartedly and not just what He can give or do for us?
Or we will we continue to “play” around and fool ourselves that we are holy when our lifestyles speak otherwise?
The choice is yours today! Either we will seek God’s heart or we will continue to seek what He has in his hands. Your soul is at stake and the choice is yours so choose wisely! (Deuteronomy 30:19).
