And They Continued Steadfastly…
What does it mean to ‘continue steadfastly’?
In Acts 2:42, the scripture says:
“And they continue steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
To ‘continue steadfastly‘, means to be constantly diligent, to move earnestly toward, adhering closely and persevering through.
I submit to you that because we serve a living God, we must have a living, breathing, active Faith.
Here in this verse it means to Continue in the doctrine you have already received.
Keep believing in it and sway not from it! Let it settle firmly in your spirit and move not from it, but build upon it with more truth.
In 2 Timothy 4:2 it says:
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”
Be instant! Be ready! Be present in the moment to share the word! Practice it continuing steadfastly!
I am sure that there are other things in life that require such diligence, but above them all, this is the most important… your Faith!
“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up The Gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in Faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by The Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
It’s time to stir up the gift of god in you! Keep on keeping on and continue steadfastly in the truth!” 2 Timothy 1:6-14 KJV
God Bless You, you are in my prayers
