An ANSWER to the LAW KEEPERS
An ANSWER to the LAW KEEPERS (those who mix Grace with Law to be saved).
I agree with the Apostle Paul who defended the Faith by clearly teaching the Judiziers in the Book of Galatians [to refute their false deductions and teachings]: that those who are saying a man can be saved by Faith in the Grace of God, then must yet keep that same Law or be forever lost, are removed into Another Gospel. There is ONLY ONE GOSPEL and it is the Gospel of the Grace of God. That Grace is the means of salvation through Faith in the Finished work of Jesus Christ, is quite evident.
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ” Galatians 1:6.
Yes, the great Apostle Paul did MARVEL that men were SO SOON removed from the Clear teaching of the Gospel of the Grace of God. He called their removal [a removal INTO ANOTHER GOSPEL] which according to the writing was a grave error which perverted the true meaning of the Gospel. The name Gospel is GOOD NEWS and he went on to say that the good news was that MEN WERE NOT SAVED BY KEEPING THE LAW but were SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH. Paul ably defended the Gospel and said there is NO OTHER GOSPEL and that to CHANGE THE TRUE Gospel of the Grace of God would bring serious offense [causing one to be accursed].
A casual reading of the Book of Galatians and what Paul said concerning the mixing of Grace and Faith with Law keeping in order to be saved will reveal much truth. The truth is that Paul said that to teach that righteousness comes by keeping the Law, would fully mean that CHRIST THEN DIED IN VAIN. Jesus Christ died on his cross not to just point us in the right direction on how to be saved, but he died TO SAVE US AND TO JUSTIFY US WITHOUT THE DEEDS OF THE LAW. Clearly what Paul said was that IF A MAN CAN BE SAVED BY KEEPING THE LAW [commandments] then Jesus would not have had to die such a terrible death because men did not need him and his work.
Paul then went on to say that anyone who does teach that a man must YET KEEP THE LAW PERFECTLY AFTER HE IS SAVED BY GRACE does definitely FRUSTRATE THE GRACE OF GOD.
“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” Galatians 2:21.
Let all men take note of the fact that the Apostle Paul wrote under inspiration of the Holy Spirit and described how men are truly saved in his great statement:
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified” Galatians 2:16.
To say that men are saved by Grace through Faith alone then turn around and say that YET A MAN CAN AND MUST KEEP THE SAME LAW THAT JESUS CAME TO SAVE US FROM would FRUSTRATE the truth that a man can be JUSTIFIED [meaning: to gain a state of forgiveness JUST AS IF HE HAD NEVER SINNED]. Such teachings are clearly revealed in what Paul wrote then: BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED.
**(((Let me ask you [you who desire to be yet under the Law or keepers of it] DO YOU NOT HEAR THE LAW? You should consider what the Apostle Paul said:
“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them” Galatians 3:3-12.
In these verses Paul argued and said: “This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” There is evidently only ONE WAY TO BE JUSTIFIED [Saved]. It is either by HEARING OF FAITH AND THE GRACE OF GOD [provided by Jesus Death for our sins and salvation from the condemnation of the Law] or by THE WORKING OUT OF THE LAW [the diligent keeping of the principles of the Law to every minute detail, thus satisfying the condemnation against sinners by their Works].
Paul said clearly that it is purely foolishness to think salvation is not complete and perfect by saying a man must yet be made perfect by the Flesh. Paul’s reasoning was clear that Salvation is only gained through Faith in Jesus Work. To try to add WORKS was to deny that Jesus works was adequate and good to the saving of men.
“Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:3.
* * * * *
This Teaching is submitted to all those who do not understand the TRUE TEACHING OF THE GOSPEL, that men CAN ONLY BE SAVED BY FAITH. Many are going about saying that a man can be Lost again [by not doing good works or keeping the commandments]. To this error I am in agreement with the Word of God and the Apostle Paul: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. A man is not able within himself to keep the Law to such perfection as to save himself. To say one is saved by Grace through Faith then come back and say YET MUST HE KEEP THE LAW OR YET HE CAN BE LOST FOREVER, is a very SERIOUS error and must be addressed as such.
I would like to clarify that the Law and Commandments are still good and will never pass away. But, there must be the understanding and knowledge that WE WHO ARE NOW SAVED BY FAITH THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD do keep these commandments [NOT TO BE SAVED] but… “BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED” and have been given His Spirit which enables us to do so. Salvation work was provided to SAVE US FROM THE CONDEMNATION OF THE LAW TO THOSE WHO WERE CONDEMNED BY IT but now “IN CHRIST JESUS” we are SET FREE FROM THE LAWS CONSEQUENCES AND CONDEMNATION AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN NEW LIFE IN THE SPIRIT. (Romans 8:10) all scripture in this teaching is taken from the KING JAMES VERSION.
