America, The Story Has NOT Ended!
“And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused,” Romans 1:21 (NLT).
This one verse has so much depth. On the surface, many take Romans chapter 1 as a warning to the unbeliever; those who reject Christ.
But the scripture hits much deeper than this. Remember, the bible was not written for the unbeliever, but the believer. And moreover, Paul’s letters (Romans) were written to the church in Rome.
Therefore we know we can apply this even to the church of today.
I’ve seen and heard so much going on in the church that reminds me of this verse. We’re building pulpits out of cash, driving motorcycles across stages, painting our faces like clowns and dancing around, selling seats to revivals, charging for prophesies and impartations, and claiming that prophets bring profit.
We’re screaming and shouting with no anointing, jerking, barking, laughing, and rolling around on the floor filled with a false fire.
We’re teaching babes that God hasn’t blessed unless you have a large bank account, and that we can raise ourselves up to the stratosphere and have conversations with the “courts of heaven,” yet no one realizes that they are speaking with the angel that comes in the appearance of…
We have reduced the power of God to gold dust, feathers, dollar bills appearing in a wallet, and gems in a bible; NONE of which we find written in the Word of God.
We have thought up foolish ideas of what God is like. Therefore our minds have become dark…
The LORD spoke to me last week and twice told me to study the Book of Nahum.
I said, “LORD, I haven’t read that book in a few years.” And I didn’t remember what it was about.
This past weekend, I began my study and the Lord immediately started speaking to me about Nineveh.
You see, the story of Jonah was only half of the story regarding Ninevah; Nahum was the other half. The people of Ninevah returned to their wicked ways after Jonah, and later, God sent Nahum to prophesy their total destruction.
After the election, many people reached out to me, even sent cards thanking me for being a Jonah. I was actually insulted by this, because I knew America had not repented.
I sought the LORD for understanding so that I wouldn’t end up like Jonah, who in the end, became bitter. But the LORD told me in December that the story had not ended, but had only begun, and to watch and wait.
There is so much more to come.
But I was will leave you with this: God will not be mocked. He is a jealous God and will cast down all idols.
Get into your secret place, be still and listen. The clock has stop ticking….
Shabbat Shalom
