Agree and disagree in Love!
Where there is unity there is strength!
There are many Christian churches today that carry on as though they ALONE are chosen; (Jesus said he had other sheep not of this fold and them he must bring; and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd! (John 10:16)) yet Peter, in agreement with Paul and Barnabas, clarifies that God HAS chosen to save ALL who will accept the gift of salvation.
But, I hear the Lord saying, “It is sad but we as the body CANNOT even sit down without someone backsliding and sticking their lips out, because they don’t agree with what others in the body are doing! As a matter of fact, if some individuals don’t agree with what a person’s doctrine or denominations is saying, some folk will even go so far as to STOP speaking and even fellowshipping with there sisters and brothers in Christ!”
Peter goes on to say that God knows the heart. As the circumcised heart was to be the most authentic indicator of true belief, Peter forces the divided council to accept that the Gentiles must have the same (Equality) capacity to believe as anyone else. Now, just think if God would have did like many of us and left the Gentiles out of the option to choose Salvation we would have been lost eternally!
Jesus’ commissioned all believers to go, teach, and baptize (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16) means that EVERYONE can have an opportunity not only to be called brother and sister, but also be acknowledged as the sons and daughters of God.
When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined (felt) that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. (If no one is able to challenge what you believe than how do you know it is God?)
But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, (the Holy Ghost is a dispute settler when ever a problem arises in the body of Christ God wants the people of God to seek him! The Holy Ghost will teach and guide you into ALL truth!
The problem is their are NOT enough people consulting him for truth!) that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, (the Holy Ghost will bear witness in your spirit concerning the truth) giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith, (Acts 15:2,5-9).
It is time to seek and to explore the Lord for answers that mere mortals man has no answers to! It is Not God’s will that we lack wisdom or knowledge but it is his will that we all come into the knowledge and revelation of him in Love!
God will have the last say!
