Agonizing in Prayer?
3 Words in 1
Stay Strong!
Saints, we must have a Strong spirit to stand in the battle in the Evil day.
To have a weak or passive spirit will cause one to be overcome or defeated by the powers of darkness,
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might,” Ephesians 6:10.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” Ephesians 6:11.
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him,” Luke 2:40.
Soaking Prayer
Soaking Prayer will not bring Revival, though there are some good things received in being still before Lord.
It will not birth souls into the kingdom, nor bring in the harvest. We need to put on the weapon of all forms and manners of prayer. We need every weapon in the arsenal,
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints,” Ephesians 6:18.
Agonizing in Prayer?
Saints do we need to strive, labor and agonize together in prayer?
Evidently Paul thought we do, and many believe he wrote the book of Hebrews which tells us to labor, to enter His rest.
There is deception in the land, heralded by many in the prophetic, glory and revival movement, that all we have to do is rest in the finished works and do nothing.
Saints, that is a doctrine of demons, and is one of the reasons darkness is overtaking our nation.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together (G4865) with me in your prayers to God for me,” Romans 15:30.
G4865 = 1) to struggle in company with, to strive together with the root word it is from is G75 is Agonizmai in the Greek it means to strive, fight labor, fervently.
2) to contend with adversaries.
3) to contend to struggle with difficulties and dangers.
4) to endeavor with strenuous zeal strive to obtain something and is used in the following N.T scriptures: 1 Corinthians 9:2, Colossians 4:12, 1 Timothy 6:12, 2 Timothy 4:7 and the following:
“Where unto I also labor, striving (G75) according to his working, which worketh in me mightily,” Colossians 1:29.
Could it be that these people are just lazy, and want a gospel of ease and comfort and are at ease in Zion?
Thank God for the good things in these movements, but this error must be exposed.
