Acknowledging those called by The LORD
Anyone called of God should be esteemed highly, as the office they hold is an institution of God himself.
He is the one who called some, not all, to be Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Pastors and Evangelists, Ephesians 4:11. Those who are called, must be “received well” by those to whom they are sent.
If you want a blessing from God through His servants (men or women), then you must acknowledge the office they hold.
There are blessing that flow because a relationship has been well defined on the basis of the greater, to bless the lesser. There are those you meet, who are more than a brother or a sister in Christ. But if you don’t see them to be “greater than,” then you may just meet and have some tea and nothing noble happens. You would have missed much, because what you wanted, was limited to the physical.
I have also learnt in ministry, that when someone wants to mess with you or your ministry, they first reduce you to the ordinary. Don’t even dare address a servant of God casually in his first name! Nazareth missed on the prophet’s reward for making one born there appear lesser, (Mark 6:1-6). Really, there is a way you can come to a man of God that only shows you will not get help through him.
When we shall arrive at the complete restoration of divine order, then this governmental order will be channels of blessings and judgments on the other hand. The result is the fear of the Lord. The full Godly authority will be established, but also with high accountability, culminating to God as the sovereign authority. And this is not arrogance. I am teaching the body of Christ to know the generals among them, who lead them in warfare.
May those who are wise, hear this word.
“He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward,” Matthew 10:41-42.
Shalom,
