An ‘Abiding’ friend of mine called today and was preaching over the phone…… about “abiding.”

Thank you Barrett Morrison for reminding me, and teaching via phone…. God bless you Sir!

Barrett was preaching saying something like this…. “We must abide in The Word of God and when we do, we will be greatly blessed and used by The LORD.”

He ran up and down on that subject and I just said Amen! Amen! Amen! I told him, “Come on by New Mexico and preach that sermon to all who will hear it!”

How many problems would be solved today and questions answered if…. we just would get into The Word of God and abide in it and what it says?

Notice now what Jesus said about abiding:

“If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be My Disciples.” John 15:7-8.

Yet now we know and realize more and more every day just how little time many spend in actual “Bible Study, Prayer and Seeking God for Understanding”.

How can one expect to grow up if he does not eat?

Well, tell me how can one expect to Understand and walk in Victory with The LORD and overcoming life without “Abiding in The Word“?

When a person abides long in The Word of God… he is really abiding with The LORD Himself, because The Word is the written part of The LORD, and The LORD is The Living Word Himself.

The Word is His Word, and when you read, it that same Word transforms you into His very Image.

See this verse:

“Now The LORD is that spirit: and where the spirit of The LORD is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit of The LORD.” 2 Corinthians 3:17-18.

You see, you cannot live in The Word and it not change you into the same image, and you will move from one glory to another glory, even as by The Spirit of The LORD, himself.

Yet.. today, it is very hard to get people to even read The Word of God, much less study it, and even harder to get them to abide [live in] The Word!

So sad it is to see this problem, yet talk all you will and warn them, they still will not abide in The Word, and then they wonder… “What is wrong with me?”

Do they not know, what part do they not understand, The Word of God is the very Words of The LORD himself, and if a person will live in His Words, he will see Jesus and even be transformed into a person, “like Jesus”?

But today, most Churches have no longer Bible Study. Many only sing and talk some about some verses — but they will no longer teach bible studies!

Then the Church wonders what is wrong with this Church? Why are we failing, and falling short of being what the church ought to be?

Abide in The Word… is the answer…. That is why!

Added scripture:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and Acceptable, and Perfect, Will of God.” Romans 12:2.
