“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another,” John 13:34-35, NKJV.

Dear Ones:

Social distancing has become a dilemma for Christians. There are those who are heeding the request of their elected officials. (See Romans 13:1-7)

Then there are those who are adamant about having meetings in direct opposition to the requests. (See Hebrews 10:24-25)

So what are we to do? Both are using scriptures as the basis of their actions.

The commandment of The LORD, to love one another as He loves us is the key. When we operate in love (His Love) we will do no harm to the brethren.

There are NO formulas. We are held to a higher standard of life in the Spirit. Therefore, we must be led by the Spirit not the flesh.

Many leaders are claiming that if we heed the instructions of the elected officials we are operating in fear. But if we heed The LORD’s directive to love each other, how can we be in fear?

We cannot. Concern for the welfare of others by not exposing the vulnerable of our groups to this virus is an act of love.

You may say, “But we are under the Blood?” You can only speak for your faith level not for someone else’s.

You can only take authority over situations where you have it given to you. For example, when a person asks for prayer, they are giving you the authority to speak over them and into their lives.

But, they have to believe to receive. You cannot believe for them. You release the power over them and into them, but they must receive and take it.

Even The LORD was hindered by the unbelief of the people in His hometown and could only heal a few sick folks. (See Mark 6:5.)

The Church is the people not a building. The gracious LORD, knowing all things, has given us the ability to stream our services and to share the Gospel to the entire world from one location.

Personal contact is preferred, but you must consider the times and operate with godly wisdom. Rebellion against authorized and acknowledged authority is not a Christian characteristic.

We must be careful that we are not caught up in the social aspect of congregational meetings. It is nice to see everyone, but are we more concerned about being seen?

Are platform people more concerned about being in front of an audience?

Do we think that The Holy Spirit can only move when we are present at one location than another?

Each of us is responsible to our King for our actions, thoughts, and words. It is important to operate in love because that is the way we are identified as His. Our love walk is our passport, so to speak, that proves our Citizenship in Heaven.

Let us begin to adhere to The LORD’s command and do no harm. We are His ambassadors.

Stop and consider these issues. Go to The LORD and listen for His voice; obey Him.

I challenge you to consider these words. Search the Scriptures. Seek Him. Believe the best is yet to be.

All is well in Him.

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. ² Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. ³ For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. ⁴ For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. ⁵ Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. ⁶ For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. ⁷ Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor,” Romans 13:1-7.

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching,” Hebrews 10:24-25.

“Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them,” Mark 6:5.
