It was nearly 3 years ago that I released “Signs of the Times” through Fisher of Men Productions. The two hour, four part series is the most extensive video project I’ve completed to date but I felt the Spirit of God compelling me to make a statement regarding the times we are in. In just three short years I feel as though I could do a whole new series directed at this subject.

Here in the United States of America we are plunging headlong into an ever deeper moral decline. Popular culture features an increasingly overt move towards outright Satanism as stars such as Katy Perry (who openly admits selling her soul to the devil for fame) and Madonna promote ideals such as lesbianism and promiscuity as “the hip way to be.”

What’s more they feature rituals clearly depicting the occult and glorifying Satan. Not even the Super Bowl is safe as Illuminati priestess Katy was joined by raunchy rapper Missy Elliott whose lyrics are so explicit that I dare not repeat them.

This is the “tip of the tip” of the iceberg. What entertainers are paid millions of dollars to promote is exactly what our society is demanding and our children are indoctrinated into. These are our idols and our role models. Before you read on, “Selah” (pause and think about this). Most are fooled by a brand of secular based “relative morality” which is spiraling literally to the depths of hell.

This morning I was reading an article featuring a new line of clothing focused on “gender blending.” Believe it or not, the fashion culture is beginning to promote men’s dresses. This stretches far beyond the concept of morality and steps into the realm of challenging nature. Even those who deny God should understand the basic concept of male and female. It is, after all, the way of “Mother Nature,” right? Yet even these, the most basic of laws, are now being challenged by man’s unregenerate, probate minds.

Is it any wonder that we are in the shape we are in? I have been heavily focused on reinforcing the positive rather than putting a spotlight on the negative but frankly, it’s impossible to ignore. Sex is literally everywhere and promoted in all forms and fashions. Meanwhile our children are completely confused about the word “love.” It seems that in fact that it has been replaced with a false definition. Love means lust and it has nothing to do with giving. It is all about getting. What was once considered a childlike mentality of “Me, Me, Me” that needed to be corrected with discipline, maturity and growth is now encouraged as adult behavior.

Once cherished ideals such as selflessness and meekness are now outdated and have been replaced with ruthless self-ambition and unapologetic dog eat dog self-promotion.

How many times can I possibly quote Isaiah 5:20?

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

How many times can I possibly repeat the same words of, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil?” It seems to me that this is the driving principle of our nation. Even our churches are increasingly apostate as Biblical truth is traded for moral relativity. Somewhere along the lines many of our shepherds have forgotten that God does not change and that He is same yesterday, today and forevermore. They have forgotten that they are not able to simply add to or omit holy writ at will. They have forgotten that although these words were physically written by the hands of man they were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God.

Religion is not an industry. It is not a money making scheme. Or should I say, “It is not meant to be?” The fact is that many of our churches are filled with people seeking hope but the hope they are receiving is false. The good news is that “Jesus wants you to be wealthy” and “you can have your best life now.” The religious leaders who promote such teaching talk the talk and walk the walk after all. They live in mansions, drive fancy cars, own private jets and helicopters. Meanwhile they ignore the plight of those who are dying just a few thousand miles away… and should they promote such realities it is with a twist that helps them capitalize on the misery of others.

Is this merely a rant? I wonder, if we were to hear the heart of God in this season what would He say? Even more importantly, if we could feel what He is feeling who could endure the heartbreak? Who could stand the pure anguish of a God who not only loves but IS love as generations perish?

The godless may be saying, “If there really is a God how could He allow all this to happen? Why doesn’t He simply stop all of the suffering in the world?” Of course the fact is that they are merely asserting their pride and their believed ability to judge God based on their own warped sense of morality. In response to these self-proclaimed moral high steppers I say, “God is not sitting idly by. He will not allow evil to endure.” In the book of Revelation we find God’s response to these who accuse Him.

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

The nations were angry, and your wrath has come.

The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small — and for destroying those who destroy the earth, Revelation 11:17-18.

This time is coming and when it does, those who have scoffed the Most High God will be put to shame. Their mouths will fall silent as their tongues refuse to move. They will stare blankly with jaws agape as the true terror of the LORD overtakes them. There will be no accusers on that day but the Holy One. There will be no mockers on that day. There will be no one who even dares stand in the presence of the LORD. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus alone is LORD to the glory of God the Father.

The more I write the more I wish to share but I will conclude… for now. For those who are in the faith I can only say, “Keep your wicks trimmed and your lamps full of oil.” This is not the time to sleep. We must remain vigilant. We must fix our eyes on Jesus. This is not just about your salvation. While you may be saved from the wrath that is to come, what of those around you? Will you remain silent even as they perish?

I must preach to myself in saying these words as well for I simply cannot preach the Gospel enough. Our nation and this world are headed for a wakeup call. I fear that even then many will refuse to arise from their slumber.
