A Rod for the Nation and the Body
Bring Aaron’s rod back before the Testimony! Many are saying they are priest, but God said, ” You are No Priest in My house!”
This morning in prayer the Lord spoke the word “ROD” to me in prayer! He said it was a symbol of authority, because shepherds would use a rod to guide and correct the sheep (Psalm 23:4). The rod is used for correction. In Psalm 23:4 (“Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me”), however, shebhet is the shepherd’s rod, figurative of divine guidance and care.
In Ezekiel 21:10,13, the word stands for the royal scepter, “Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?” In 1 Corinthians 4:21, Aaron’s rod budded. In Hebrew 9:4, a ruler’s rod “of iron.” And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. This rod also means severity, as in Revelation 2:27; 12:5; 19:15, and a measuring rod (Revelation 11:1).
God is speaking this morning and He is saying that He is pulling out the rod to bring correction both to the nation and the body of Christ in this hour! For many are failing the test of true leadership and authority in this hour!
God had Aaron to go through a test with the budding of the rod to demonstrate his authority and his power to both the people and Aaron! God gave instructions to write each man’s name on his rod. And you shall write Aaron’s name on the rod of Levi: In gathering rods, and inscribing each with the name of a tribe, and on Levi’s rod inscribing Aaron’s name, God would declare which tribe possessed priestly authority (this authority brought order to the house! God never intended for this authority and power to be used to abuse our power as priest in the office as leaders!) by choosing one of the rods. This was the issue at hand in light of Korah’s rebellion.
Many have begun to walk in rebellion against God because the rod was suppose to be used to guide, comfort, and bring correction to the sheep and NOT to kill the sheep; as some or doing!
I hear God saying that many have begun to walk as sheep and have lost there power as leaders and there rod is NO LONGER budding with God’s anointing and his power!
“The Pharisees and scribes asked Jesus, “Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?” He answered and said unto them, “Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, (many of God’s people started out with a budding rod, but NOW they walk as mere men in the kingdom and have been rendered powerless because the have failed the test of Aaron’s budding rod! Where by they was once deemed a priest in God’s house: NOW God has said ye are NO priest unto me. Why? Because, they have failed to show love and to honor God in there use of the rod!) as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.” And he said unto them, “Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition,” Mark 7:5-9.
The rod of Aaron: When Moses checked on the rods the next day, Aaron’s rod – and only Aaron’s rod – had sprouted. It not only sprouted, it had put forth buds. It had not only put forth buds, it had produced blossoms. (Some of you are saying God has called you a priest but there is still NO fruit on your rod) It had not only produced blossoms, it had yielded . . . almonds. It had not only yielded almonds, it yielded ripe almonds!
We cannot continue to live in sin and think that God is going to allow our rod to continue to bud in this season.
