It was on the 1st of October in 2001 as I was heading to a prayer and fasting program in church that I heard these words from the LORD: “It is not My will that Nigeria, your country, divides!”

I responded saying “LORD, if it is not your will, then it can never happen!” I was shocked when He said to me, “YES, IT CAN!”

I didn’t get this one, so I asked how this can be possible. The LORD said to me, “Jesus said, your will be done on earth. as it is in heaven”

Then He added, “If My people will not enforce My will over their nation through prayers, My will can never come to pass over their nation.”

At this point, I could hardly control the tears. As I was approaching Mabushi junction here in the capital city of Nigeria – Abuja, my eyes were opened to a sculpture of hands of Nigeria, holding up a map of Africa. (For those who remember very well, there used to be a sculpture of the hands of Nigeria lifting up the map of Africa).

These words came to my heart by the Spirit of God: “Africa and the world knows that Nigeria has a role to play for them to fulfill their national destinies, but My people are blind to this..”

On the date of this prophetic encounter, I wept all day and into the night

Two days ago, my heart was so heavy and eyes teary as I interceded for this country, praying and enforcing the will of the LORD in her.

I know the pains we are all going through in this nation. I understand the plight in the Niger Delta region. I know just what everyone is going through for I am also going through the same.

Sometimes I have wished that this country breaks into a thousand fragments and shreds as human, but we have to submit to the will of the LORD even when it proves the most difficult to.

This is a nation going through her birth pangs. I believe that if we stand side by side the will of the LORD over the destiny of this nation through prayers and positive action, we shall see a new NIGERIA EMERGE to take her place in destiny!

NIGERIA, DO NOT DIVIDE!
