A Prayer for Israel and My Country
PERSONAL VERSION “I”
Father, I love You and I worship You. I praise You and I extol You for Your great power toward us who believe, for Your amazing grace and for Your tremendous invincible powers which works in us and for us – the same almighty strength You used when You raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him far above all other powers, both visible and invisible. You are able to do infinitely beyond all our highest prayers and thoughts. Nothing is impossible with You, O Lord.
I magnify You with thanksgiving, Lord Jesus, my Almighty God, my Redeemer and my Shepherd who guides and protects me; my Bridegroom who delights in me and defends my highest interest. I bless Your Holy name, O Lord, and I thank You for Your indwelling Holy Spirit, my Comforter and Helper, my source of strength and hope.
Oh Lord, how I wish I had the great honour to stand there on the physical land of Your beloved nation, Israel and pray to you. In Your most precious name, Lord, I earnestly seek Your face, to stand by You and to stand with the Jewish people.
Oh Lord, I am deeply saddened by the anti-Semitic behaviour of the government of my country which had rejected, hated and cursed Israel over many years, even until today. I come before Your throne of grace, O Lord, to stand in the gap for my government and for my nation, repenting and seeking Your forgiveness for our sins and for the hurts and sufferings of the Jewish people over the years. O Lord, before You now, I commit myself to genuine brotherhood with Your covenant people!
I also stand in the gap for the Church of <<my country>>, which sinned against You, and did not stand on Your Word, O Lord. I seek Your mercy and forgiveness, and the forgiveness of the Jewish people. Lord, I stand on Your Word and Your Promise in I John 1:19 that says: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I pray that the <<my country>> Church will now unite in agape love, in spirit and in truth, and that Your Word will be preached in its fullness, fearlessly, not selectively or ignorantly. Grant all preachers of Your Church in <<my country>>, the necessary knowledge, wisdom and understanding, I pray. May the fear of man and of law in Your churches be bound in the name of Jesus, and that Your church will love Israel, for You love Israel, O God! Let there be a fresh anointing and boldness in Your people, I pray; for Lord, You have not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and of a sound mind. Let Your church bear good fruit with repentance, O Lord! Let the walls of division among churches in <<my country>> be pulled down now, in Jesus’ name, I pray. Be glorified, O Lord, be glorified.
I also pray for the present and the next Government of <<my country>>, O Lord. Let the next leader be a God loving and God fearing person who will yield to You, leading my country in righteousness and in godliness, I pray! Open Your flood gates in heaven and let the showers of Your blessings fall on <<my country>>, O Lord. I welcome the Lion of Judah to take His rightful place in <<my country>>, O mighty God! Let every tribe, every people and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour of <<my country>>, I pray. Let the nation of <<my country>> and the nation of Israel embrace each other in love, O Lord. I pray for a supernatural breakthrough and Your favour, such that bilateral relations between the two nations result in visa free travel, mutual openness, and mutual respect and support at all levels and in all areas of contact, in Jesus’ mighty name! Deliver Your people and heal <<my country>>, O Lord!
By Your grace, mercy and favour, I also pray that You will deliver the inhabitants of Israel and heal their land. You loved the people of Israel and kept the oath sworn to the fathers. This is confirmed in Your Word in Deuteronomy 7:7-8 which reads: “It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.”
Before the time when You came as Messiah, Lord Jesus, Gentiles who were seeking the truth had always converted to Judaism, the only religion to worship the ONE true God. These Gentile seekers of the truth were called “those who fear God,” according to Acts 13:16, for Paul addressed them as “Men of Israel and you who fear God…” Yes, Almighty God, You so loved the world and You desired that all mankind be saved, yet we are directed very specifically to love and comfort Israel. For as Psalms 122:6 says: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they be secure who love you!” and as Psalms 137:5-6 also says: “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy!”
I am a blessed child of God; I am part of the Body of Christ; the One New Man composing the two – Jews and Gentiles; for according to Your revelation of the mystery to Paul, Gentiles are members of the same Body and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the gospel. This, You have revealed in Ephesians 3:3 and 3:6. Therefore, the Body of Christ needs the Jewish people in order to be complete. Your sadness over Jerusalem and Your longing for her return, O Lord, we do and shall remember. For You said in Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! See, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
O Lord, I pray for the Jewish people to hear Your Word of Faith. I pray Your Word in Hosea 5:5 to come to pass, that “in their infliction they will earnestly seek me.” Lord, this verse is used by some to justify their notion that the Jewish people must suffer more before they call upon You. I choose to pray that Your kingdom come upon the Jewish people; and that Your perfect will be done in Jesus’ name, on earth as it is in heaven. I pray that You will thwart the plans of the evil one and his hosts, O Lord, and that the wisdom of God will come upon Your precious people as they yield to You in submission, to receive their faith, not by suffering or by seeing, but by hearing, according to Romans 10:14-15. Let them proclaim Yeshua as their Saviour, as thousands testify to that today! I pray for labourers to go to the Jewish harvest field, so that every Jewish home receives Your Holy Bible, and hears Your Holy Word.
Lord, in Acts 2:1-16, we read that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon the Jewish people. I pray that the latter rain falls upon them according to Zechariah 10:1, and that this latter rain, the outpouring of Your Holy Spirit, will be greater than the early rain as prophesied in Hosea 3:5. I pray for an outpouring of the rain of Righteousness and Peace to come according to Hosea 10:12, Oh Lord Jesus.
I also pray for the latter rain to be tied to the Harvest in the Nations, O Lord, according to Jeremiah 5:24. Let the hearts of stone in the people be turned to hearts of flesh. Let Your showers of blessings, these showers in their season, fall upon the nations according to Ezekiel 34:26-27, O Lord! Let the trees of the field yield their fruit and the earth yields increase, so they may be secure in their land. I also pray that You will now break their yokes and deliver them from the hands of those who enslaved them; in Jesus’ mighty name, we pray!
Lord, when you send warning signals and Your desires for repentance through Your prophets and servants, let those who have ears, hear; and those who have eyes, see. I pray for Israel to choose to believe for her own good and for her “Shalom,” for “peace” is Your heart’s desire, O God, for Your beloved people, Israel. I stand in the gap to pray against the terrors of these days, O Lord. I pray for “Peace” according to Psalm 122:6. Let “Peace be within you, O Israel”. I proclaim “Peace” according to Nahum 1:15 and “Cry out” that her warfare is ended; according to Isaiah 40:1-2, I declare that her iniquity is pardoned, and that she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins. I stand in the gap to “seek Peace” according to Psalm 34:14.
Hear, O Israel, the Lord has made a “Covenant of Peace with you”, says Isaiah 54:10-14. God promised a peaceful habitation in Isaiah 32:15-18 and He gives Peace as Haggai 2:9 says. I stand in the gap and proclaim the Gospel of Peace according to Romans 10:15.
Almighty God, let Your name be Hallowed and You be glorified on earth as it is in heaven we pray. Let Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done in Israel and in <<my country>> !!!
Be glorified, O Lord, be glorified! In the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I ask and pray.
Amen and Amen!
