A Personal Encounter
“Encounter” according to Webster’s Dictionary is an unexpected experience you have never experienced but it has touched you in some way or another.
However; a divine encounter that comes from god is when you have experienced the supernatural experiences of God and you don’t need anybody to tell you otherwise. In fact it comes with deep revelations, miracles that will change and transform your thinking!
For instance Saul who was on the road to Damascus and encountered Jesus on the way and as a result had a name change to Paul! (Acts 13:9)
As I was meditating upon The LORD, The LORD spoke to me that many have read about him, heard about him but they have never had a divine encounter with him!
“Their was woman, a Samaritan, came to draw water. Jesus said, “Would you give me a drink of water?” (His disciples had gone to the village to buy food for lunch.)
The Samaritan woman asked, “How come you, a Jew, are asking me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (Jews in those days wouldn’t be caught dead talking to Samaritans.)
Jesus answered, “If you knew the generosity of God and who I AM, you would be asking me for a drink, and I would give you fresh, living water.”
The woman said, “Sir, you don’t even have a bucket to draw with, and this well is deep. So how are you going to get this ‘living water’? Are you a better man than our ancestor Jacob, who dug this well and drank from it, he and his sons and livestock, and passed it down to us?”
Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst-not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life.”
The woman said, “Sir, give me this water so I won’t ever get thirsty, won’t ever have to come back to this well again!”
He said, “Go call your husband and then come back.”
“I have no husband,” she said. “That’s nicely put: ‘I have no husband.’ you’ve had five husbands, and the man you’re living with now isn’t even your husband. You spoke the truth there, sure enough.”
“Oh, so you’re a prophet! Well, tell me this: our ancestors worshiped god at this mountain, but you jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place for worship, right?”
“Believe Me, woman, the time is coming when you Samaritans will worship the father neither here at this mountain nor there in Jerusalem. You worship guessing in the dark; we Jews worship in the clear light of day.
God’s way of salvation is made available through the Jews. But the time is coming-it has, in fact, come — when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. it’s who you are and the way you live that count before God.
Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.
God is sheer being itself-spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration,” John 4:7-24 MSG.
It is very clear Jesus did not come to draw water from the well, because he had no bucket to draw with, but His aim was to minister to this woman regarding her own hearts condition, so that she could have a personal encounter with The LORD.
Jesus wanted her to know Who He was for herself. Notice, he never once mentioned who He was but it was the woman who perceived He was A Prophet of God.
Many are stuck on the titles, positions and who they know, as opposed to who they are in God and who God is in their lives.
Like this poor woman at the well was; she knew about her ancestors and who and what they believedg but she herself had no personal relationship with God, and Jesus let her know why it was she could not receive this ‘divine water’ from the well.
He didn’t come out and tell her, but asked her some questions that caused her to examine her life and to make the necessary changes to receive this water.
He said, “Go call your husband and then come back,” and she replied, “I have no husband,” “That’s nicely put: ‘I have no husband.‘ then Jesus said, “You’ve had five husbands, (words of knowledge) and the man you’re living with now isn’t even your husband. You spoke the truth there, sure enough.”
The LORD wants His People to know that you must be wise to win souls for His Kingdom. Jesus could have thrown salt on this poor woman and condemned her behavior, but instead he allowed her to think and to examine her own behavior which brought about conviction in her heart that brought about true change!
This poor woman was so confused about what it took to worship and to serve God that she said, “Our ancestors worshiped god at this mountain, but you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place for worship, right?”
But Jjesus again begin to let her know that what she had been taught was incorrect, and it is not all about the place but it was about the heart.
Jesus let her know worship is about relationship and not religion or traditions but it’s about {who you are and the way you live} that count before God.
God wants to hand out some divine personal encounters with many in this season to demonstrate His Love and His Adoration for you to show you who you are and who He is and can be in your life, no longer what you read, or heard, but the divine encounter you have had with him your own self.
Just like he did with the woman at the well!

Apostle Geraldine Fisher has a World-Wide-Social Media Net-Work Ministry. As a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet, revealing to her the qualities of a True prophet, humility, humiliation, loving others, interceding in prayer, as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her to ministry, she’s been called to intercede and pray for others in ministry as God speaks, instructs, directs and gives prophetic words for her to give to others. God promised He would bring her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did!
An awesome and true word sister Geraldine. I often wonder if I have had a ‘real encounter’ with God??? I love, serve, and obey Him (most of the time). I teach about Him and sing about Him … but seek to KNOW HIM better. IT is a seal word you have presented! :) Thank you Lord.
