A Name Change
The past few weeks I have been sharing some of the re-occurring dreams that I’ve had concerning Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin and Kim Clement.
The LORD is preparing believers to be used for an end time revival in the coming days. We are going to see mantles being passed just as Elijah’s mantle was passed to Elisha, but there is also a generation that The LORD is preparing and anointing for His end time purpose and plan.
Throughout The Bible we find several different ways that The LORD confirmed people’s callings, by raising them up and ordaining them for ministry.
We see many instances where God Himself changed someone’s name. A name change has a lot of meaning.
When God changed a person’s name, He was changing their identity. He was changing their eminence and giving them a new direction.
He was giving them a new Authority, and a new Anointing. Every name has a meaning. The etymology of that name helps to understand the significance of the name.
In the Hebrew language, a person’s Hebrew name is their life-force, and has a tremendous impact on that person. Therefore in The Bible a name is intrinsically connected with the essence of the person, and is a critical component of the person’s makeup.
When God made a Covenant with Abram He said:
“No longer will your name be Abram (Exalted father), but Abraham (“father of a multitude”). He said I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. He then changed his wife Sarai’s name (“princess”) to Sarah (“noblewoman”) And God said: I will bless her and also give you a son by her; and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” Genesis 17:5-6.
When Jacob wrestled with a man, who is believed to be Jesus, he said to Jacob:
“Your name shall no longer be called Jacob (“supplanter”), but you will be called Israel (God prevails) for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Genesis 32:28-30.
In the book of Genesis Joseph stayed faithful to The LORD through all his trials and eventually Pharaoh made him the highest official in Ancient Egypt to serve the King.
Pharaoh also gave him a robe, a gold chain and his signet ring. He had authority over everything that was Pharaohs, and ruled over Egypt.
Pharaoh then changed Joseph’s name from Joseph (“Jehovah has added”) to “Zaphenath-paneah” (“treasury of the glorious rest” and also means “a revealer of mysteries)
Daniel and his three friends had names with meanings connected to their faith in God but Nebachanezzar who was the ungodly King of Babylon wanted them to conform to the pattern of Babylon so he changed their names (Daniel 1:6).
Their names were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. He changed their names to try to associate them to a Babylonia deity.
- Daniel’s name (means God is Judge) was changed to Belteshazzar (which means the chief deity of Babylon).
- Hananiah’s name (means gift of The LORD) was changed to Shadrach (which means command of Aku, The moon God.)
- Mishael’s name (means who is what God is) was changed to Meshach (which means who is as Aku.)
- Azariah’s name (means Jehovah helps) was changed it to Abed-nego (which means the God of science and literature).
Sometime later Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which troubled him greatly. He called in the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers but they were not able to interpret his dream.
He called in Daniel and said: I have heard that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.
When Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. he fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel and said to him:
“Truly your God is the God of gods, The LORD of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.” Daniel 2:47.
He then promoted Daniel, gave him gifts and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego became administrators over Babylon.
In the New Testament there was a man named Saul who mercilessly persecuted Christians. He went from house to house into the homes of believers to arrest both men and women and drag them off to prison.
One day he was on the road to Damascus and a bright light shone around him saying
“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” Saul replied “Who are You, Lord?” Then The LORD said, “I AM Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”” Acts 9:4b-5.
Saul was blinded for three days.
Then a man named Ananias had a vision and The LORD told him to go to a particular street to meet with Saul.
The LORD already gave Saul a vision of Ananias laying hands on him. Ananias was afraid to go at first but he went and laid hands on him saying: “Brother Saul, The LORD Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Saul then began preaching about Jesus. The LORD changed his name from Saul (“desired”) to Paul (“small or little”) and he had a powerful ministry of healing the sick, raising the dead and casting out demons. He also wrote thirteen books in the New Testament.
The LORD wants to change your name.
Not literally but He wants to give you a new identity and anoint you for service.
He is equipping some of you to go to the Nations like Abraham.
He is about to promote those who lost your dream and your coat of many colors.
He will raise you up as Joseph and give you authority over your land.
He is looking for those who He could use as Daniel to interpret dreams in the Kings courts.
He is looking for the Shadrach’s, Meshach’s and Abed-Nego’s who have been tried in the fiery furnace but came out unharmed.
He will also raise them up to govern people. He is looking for the Sauls whom He can convert to Pauls and use in a ministry of Miracles, Signs and Wonders
As I was writing this, The LORD also showed me that this doesn’t only pertain to individuals, but to The Body of Christ as a whole.
The Holy Spirit showed me five streams flowing into one (the five-fold ministry).
He showed me denomination barriers being torn down.
He wants a body that will no longer be divided and critical, but will come together in unity.
When people no longer say “I follow Paul”, or “I follow Apollos” or “I follow a denomination….” but they follow Jesus.
When believers are no longer following Faith movements, Prophetic movements or Healing movements, then they will merge as one movement.
When the Kingdom of God is no longer divided against itself, it will stand strong and we will witness great exploits.
As The Body of Christ and the five-fold ministries come together in unity, then we will usher in a great revival and we will see multitudes saved in the days ahead.
“No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.” Genesis 17:5.
“And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”” Genesis 32:28.
“And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-Paaneah. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. So Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:45.
“I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.” Daniel 5:14.
Acts 9.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
