HOVER : Strong’s Hebrew 7363: flutter, move, shake; flutter lovingly; A primitive root; to brood; hover over young, hover over the face of water, cherish.

THE SPIRIT OF GOD : Ruach Elohim. Hebrew: a wind of God, (Genesis 1:2) i.e., a mighty wind, so God makes the winds His messengers (Psalm 104:4) But this unseen material force, wind (John 3:8), has ever suggested to the human mind the thought of the Divine agency, which, equally unseen as natural wind, is even mightier in His working. Divine operative energy which resides especially in the Third Person of the Holy Trinity. Called the Holy Ghost, to whom the work of creation is attributed, Job 26:13, as it is ascribed to the Second Person, the Son, John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 1:3, and to the First Person, the Father, every where. A gentle and loving energy, which tenderly and gradually, with fostering care, called forth the latent possibilities of a newly formed world. The Holy Spirit, who is uniformly represented as the source or formative cause of all life and order in the world, whether physical, intellectual, or spiritual. The Spirit of God, the Breath of God ” brooding” (merachepheth, from raehaph, to be tremulous, as with love; hence, to cherish young )

“He found him in a desert land, in a barren, howling wilderness; He surrounded him, He instructed him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle stirs up its nest and HOVERS over its young, He spread His wings to catch them and carried them on His pinions.” Deuteronomy 32:10-11.

“Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was HOVERING over the surface of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Genesis 1:2-3.

“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of FIRE, to give them light; to go by day and night.” Exodus 13:21.

“For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of FIRE round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.” Zechariah 2:5.

“Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming FIRE.” Hebrews 12:28-29.

“Who makes His angels winds, His ministers a flame of FIRE.” Psalm 104:4.

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with The Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 1:1-4.

“Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:24-25.

“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6.

“And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” Hebrews 1:3.

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.” Ephesians 3:20-21.
