A Merry Christmas Letter — 2
Let sunrise in your hearts today. Do not come before The LORD with a closed hearts. Open your hearts to receive love and understanding.
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of The LORD is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1
Granted, some people seem unlovable but remember God loves and forgives us in our worst state.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Do we treat each other so harshly because we have forgotten God made humans from the same mold?
“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3
Christ died for our immediate sin, our everyday sin, and all of our future SINS.
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.” Psalm 138:7
Man was birthed into sin and has an automatic sin nature, also man has automatic choice.
“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29
Laugh at the quarrel or misunderstanding with your brother or sister and move along your way knowing The LORD has carved out a correct path for all.
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.” Luke 6:26-32
Push away and refuse hardness of heart. Lingering on past disappointments makes the heart sick. A light heart equals a healthier body.
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12
A broken spirit; which is a crack in the heart, is an entrance way to bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, malice, ungratefulness, and just plain old stupidity.
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.” Psalm 51:7-11
Learn from mistakes and grow in grace.
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18
“Now The LORD is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of The LORD is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of The LORD.” 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Do not go into the New Year lugging a ten year old problem. Have a Merry Christmas by keeping a light heart.
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” Proverbs 15:13
Make a point this Christmas to extend the olive branch. Wrap up a gift and give it to someone who brought hurt or disappoint into your life.
Write a note that says, “I forgive you”. Remain anonymous The LORD knows who you are. This year give yourself the gift of freedom.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” John 4:23
