A Man of Understanding
Only time and space, will determine what error many of us have made.
Being obedient to what Christ called, the commandments of men, thwarted much of the work that God had intended for us to do. Showing partiality, showing respect of persons, and politics within the body, caused us to veer. It does not impress many or even touch their spirit, that there were those anointed among us back when, who greatly feared this very thing.
We can go on and on, about what God set in the church. Those who were appointed by the Spirit to address such issues, gradually found themselves confronting severe opposition. It did not come from precious anointed saints in the pew; most of it came from those in authority.
It did not start out that way; however, orders would come down the turnpike. Obeying those who had rule over you, took on a new meaning. It seemed right at first. But that changed.
Sometimes, I think about how certain things are being revealed at this time. Things, that were right there in front of us, all the time. One of the first things I remember hearing as a youngster, growing up in the church, was that God’s Word was alive.
People testified how they were reading along, and suddenly the words would leap off the page. The Holy Ghost had quickened something to their own spirit. I also learned, that God hid some things; until the right time.
Restraint from men, must have surely blocked a deeper study about these gifts, we have heard of for so long. Did any of us think, that what we knew as God’s word, would be so difficult that none of us could understand it.
Contrary to some folks proclamation, it was not the idea that the KJV was so hard to read and understand. It would not have mattered and didn’t matter, what kind of version we might have chosen. Understanding, comes from the Holy Ghost.
Diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. Next came, Differences of administrations, but the same LORD. Diversities of operations, but the same God, which worketh all in all. We were first taught, that every single member was equally important.
Why did we teach that? Because, that’s exactly how it was written. There’s a line, that says something we have glazed over. But now hath God, set the members, every one of them, in the body: “as it hath pleased Him,” 1 Corinthians 12:10.
There wasn’t supposed to be a “schism,” in the body of Christ. That’s why God set things in order the way He did. And that’s why the apostles of Jesus Christ, were led by the Spirit, to write it all down clearly, so every member could understand it.
There was not supposed to be a split, in the church. And that’s what a schism is. It is members of the one body, separating over doctrinal issues and interpretations. Splitting up a body, that does not belong to them.
God set certain ministries in the church. It was the way He wanted it and intended for it to be. What so many of us see today, is a lack of true balance in the house of the LORD.
So, what does that have to do with now; or even the days ahead?
That order set by God, was never rescinded. All of those offices, are going to speak, as they were meant and ordained to speak. Whether it be within walls that finally return to order, or in whatever corner or habitation those men and women now find themselves in.
The Spirit, will have freedom.
