A Lamp Unto Our Feet
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet — and a light to my path!” Psalm 119:105.
Over the last several months, the entire political realm has stirred many of us, and probably not necessarily, for the better.
The heated debates between one another; the put-downs, and yes, the lies.
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of it.
I’m tired of it and yet, very pensive in considering where and how it will all end up.
I’m certain that probably many of us think about where we all will be in another year, or even less.
We’ve heard talk lately about the need for turning the temperature down, and certainly one would hope that would happen. But I’m not naïve enough to believe that that will actually happen.
Perhaps some will begin to try, but it can’t come from just one camp. It has to begin and then walk out its legs with each of us, no matter what side we’re on.
But I’m saddened and concerned by the thought of what type of country we [The USA] will end up having very soon.
Of course, it is true that throughout our history we have had uprisings, wars, and turmoils of all kinds.
But all of this appears to be very prophetic, and culminating in something entirely different from all of the rest that we as a Nation and world, have gone through.
Social media is a place where we see the whole gamut of stories and headlines; from the hideous, the profane, as well as the profound, beautiful, and creative.
We should know that there are facts as well as twisted truths and non-truth. But I would hope that we’ve all concluded that there are no “alternative facts.”
It seems that when one is looking for The Truth on this medium [Facebook], it can take a pick-ax, shovel, and perhaps even a bulldozer, to locate it.
I’ll get off my soap box here pretty soon. I’ll just keep doing what I’ve been doing. I’ll keep doing my art and writing down my thoughts as well as what’s been given to me from The Throne Room.
From time to time, I’ll share some humor and crazy little anecdotes as well, because I need them to help keep me sane.
Sometimes it’s good to just take a walk, and get away from everything around you.
Explore the woods, or search out new and unique places to visit around you, if you can. Then maybe your thoughts are clearer, and the world’s problems as well as yours’, may not be quite as intense. If nothing else, you’ll see it from another viewpoint perhaps.
Nature has a way of allowing us to see the timelessness of things I believe.
In either case, I believe we’re in new territory. There are some unknown roads ahead.
It’s going to call for a great deal of Faith and also Endurance.
We don’t necessarily see those paths ahead, but like the Psalmist said:
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet — and a light to my path!” Psalm 119:105.
That lamp does not project its light for miles ahead on our path, but it does illuminate each step for us.
