A Lack of Revelation?
One of the biggest issues with today’s Christians, is pride.
The problem is, we always want to be right. We want to be acknowledged, honored, respected, and complimented.
We brag about what we know, while classifying it as merely speaking the truth, but hiding the fact that we’re only satisfying our selfish ambitions and covering up our insecurities.
Therefore we despise correction, compete with one another, lack in understanding, and reject wise counsel. Which in the end, leads to a lack of revelation, and will completely stagnant your growth in Christ.
Many leaders today have either placed themselves on a pedestal, or allowed their congregation to place them on one. Most justify this doing as a show of honor.
But the truth is they have stolen the very praise that rightfully belongs to God. And this makes them no different than Lucifer himself. For this is the very reason he was kicked out of heaven.
Yet we claim to be aligned with Christ…
But the scriptures tell us that Christ, though equal to God, took no glory for Himself. He also came not to be served, but to serve.
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8.
“Whosoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whosoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28.
Humility is the key; and humility does not have to announce that he is humble. But true humility will bring forth obedience, which will produce good fruit, of which you will be rewarded by God… and not man.
