A Diamond has many facets and when examined one will note that each is different and yet equally brilliant…

The uniqueness of each facet sets it apart yet there is only one diamond. If we are mesmerized by any one facet and remain fixed on it alone, then our understanding of the diamond in all of its brilliance will be incomplete.

So it is in our view of God.

The facets of His character are numerous. Each has its own unique brilliance yet each is only an aspect of who He is. When we become fixed on any one of His many facets our view of Him is skewed.

So one may note His righteousness. Another may point out that He is holy. Yet another would say that He is their Father and still another that He is their judge.

Each of these descriptions is correct but each is also incomplete. When we focus on just one our view of Him and our understanding of His character will be skewed.

What’s amazing about YHWH is that each aspect of Him that we experience is directly tied to what we need at the time. (Not to be confused with what we want at the time!)

We are instructed to rightly divide the word of God. I would add to this saying that we should seek to see Him as wholly as our simple minds can comprehend. In doing so it is inevitable that we will be overwhelmed and completely lost in Him.
