A Broken Puzzle
You will never completely understand a broken puzzle until you use wisdom to put the missing pieces together.
It is only when you have completed the pieces of the puzzle that you get the complete understanding of what it means or is really saying…
Sometimes God will give you the wisdom to do something without having any meaning or understanding of it.
“The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD,” Isaiah 11:2.
For quite a while I have been reflecting and looking at Isaiah 11:2 which speaks about the seven spirits of God which are:
- The Spirit of the LORD,
- the Spirit of WISDOM,
- the Spirit of UNDERSTANDING,
- the Spirit of Counsel,
- the Spirit of Might,
- the Spirit of Knowledge and
- the Fear of The LORD.
If you notice how the scripture is specifically written. Isaiah saw the need to pair the two together because He realized it is not possible to be effective having one without the other.
How would you make sense of doing something you have no understanding of?
It is not by chance that he wrote the word “WISDOM” before He did “UNDERSTANDING”.
He knew you need wisdom before you have understanding and it is impossible to have wisdom without having any understanding.
You see, God requires for us to put our faith in action by trusting in Him completely.
He wants us to be a people who operates and steps out in faith believing and trusting Him even when we have no understanding of what He is dong.
God will often times give to us wisdom but may not give us understanding immediately.
The Bible says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
God is The Word and we must have faith in Him by taking Him at His Word.
We must trust Him for what He says even if we do not completely understand or see why He asks us to do what He commands or asks of us.
If you find yourself in a place of obeying God but have no understanding of why He is telling or asking you to do what you are doing, I encourage you to continue to obey and trust Him.
You can never go wrong when you obey God, always remember that. Sometimes God is trying to develop your faith and so He wants you to step out, believing Him, without having any understanding of why you need to step out.
