Someone — A Brick Wall is Waiting For You
Somebody — you need to know a brick wall (fish) is waiting on you and the only way you are coming out, is that you cry from the belly and give God a sincere: YES!
As I was meditating upon The LORD, and got off the phone talking to my daughter, I begin to speak to God and He said to me that He is about to prepare a fish for the Jonah’s in this season!
God let me know that He always gives us a period of Grace for the people to turn, before He begins to deal with the rebellious of heart.
Jonah was given an assignment to go. The LORD spoke to him to go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry a against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But instead Jonah decided he would rather go somewhere else to do what seemed to make him happy instead.
Jonah the Bible said,
“Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish {from the presence} of The LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish {from} the presence of The LORD.” Jonah 1:3 KJV.
Isn’t it amazing, like Jonah, your heart can be so in love with pleasing the flesh that you can not depart from things you know that is bad for you that you find every excuse in the world to continue to hold on to it?
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10 3-5 emphasis added.
If only Jonah would have thought less about what he wanted in the flesh, and more about how he could please God, the door of rebellion would have never been opened in his life.
But when he contemplated on what it would be like to get away from God,l he found a ship that would take him away from going to Nineveh to help people whom God was getting ready to destroy.
Jonah was so unconcerned with what God was going to do that he even went to sleep.
The LORD let me know that so many people are like Jonah, down in the insides of the ship somewhere, fast sleep and have forgotten about the words that God sent to them to turn and to repent or to even fulfill His assignments that He has given to them, because they, for some reason or another, DON’T feel it’s of any great importance or significant enough to do, because God can either send somebody else, or even better yet, He is a merciful God and will eventually get tired of calling them and find somebody else to do the job.
But, the Bible says, “Many are called but only a few will be chosen!” (Matthew 22:14).
Some of you, God will not be so merciful to because of the call He has upon your life, and because He has chosen you for His good pleasure.
You will either turn, or a fish or a brick wall, is going to be waiting on you! And the only way out for you is that you will have to cry from the very deep part of the belly to reach God like Jonah did.
I can only imagine what it must have been like for those connected to poor Jonah as God begin to allow catastrophic events to unfold in his life as the people around him begin to see him suffer. And had they not thrown him over board I believe they all would have went down with him.
It is time to throw some folks overboard, people!
When folks continuously disobey God, you had better move out the way, unless you also go overboard with them.
The ship-master was a skilled ship-man and he knew there was something different about this journey, not like the other ones, so they cast lots to see why all this destruction had come upon them.
You can tell when God is doing something out of the ordinary, because when you are used to smooth sailing and out of the blue, things begin to do a sudden shift or a turn, you will know that God is moving in an unusual way.
It is then you will begin to seek The LORD for directions as the ship-master did.
Many times we as the Church and families pray tirelessly over folk day after day asking God to show us the why like the ship-master and his crew did, but The LORD said to me that the Jonahs know why God is dealing with their hearts!
Jonah was so bold and disconnected from God. He even had the nerves to tell the people what he had done to anger God.
The LORD said to me that some folks whom we may cry over and labor over, asking God for deliverance, but until they are ready to give up what it is that is causing them discomfort and obey God, they will continue to cry from the belly of the fish — just like Jonah did.
You notice that nobody could help Jonah from what he was going through. Sin blinds people into thinking they know God, but they really do not, like Jonah, who told the ship-master and his crew that he feared The LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.
Yet he apparently did not fear God enough, because he disobeyed him and went so far to tell others of his foolishness to run from God.
The LORD was so angry with Jonah for what he did He came after him because he had not just called Jonah but had chosen him to do a work for him but Jonah had other things he felt was more important than God’s work.
But The LORD let Jonah know he wasn’t going to accept his rebellious attitude to run and to ignore him any longer so he sent a fish in the form of judgment to swallow Jonah up until he humbly surrendered to His perfect will.
The Bible says that Jonah prayed unto The LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto The LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep — far down one does not wanna be and can not be heard — in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
I can only imagine inside this fishes belly was stinky, smelly and a place of suffocating and one can not rest or breathe.
Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
It’s a lonely place to be locked out and you can’t get a prayer to God, because of His anger and wrath, my friend!
“The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.”
When my soul fainted — weak, tired, a place of surrender and giving up — within me I remembered The LORD : and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. (Jonah 2:1-7 KJV)
God is about to place some in the belly of the fish and Grace is about to run out, because they believe like Jonah.
God is merciful and compassionate, and they do not have to do what God has told them, but like Jonah, you are going to either surrender, or die in the belly of the fish!
When God put his hands on you: nobody and I mean nobody can remove them but him!
