2019: A Time to Seek the Treasure!
2019: A Time to Seek the Treasure, Eat His Word and Return to Your First Love!
Daily Wisdom from Proverbs:
“My son, if you receive My words, and treasure My commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright,” Proverbs 2:2-7.
I am hearing God say that this year, in order for us to walk as true intercessors, we will have to have the MIND OF CHRIST!
And as I read this proverb, I saw six things that we must do to walk in the wisdom of God!
1 Receive His Words:
We must receive His words as truth!
Not waver, not decide which words we want to believe, but receive the truth of His word as the only truth!
Jesus is the word made flesh and if you say you believe in Him, then you must believe that He is His word and what He says is the only truth.
It doesn’t matter if it lines up with your experience or not! it doesn’t matter what the news media is saying!
You have to blindly believe and RECEIVE His truth and cause your SOUL (mind, will, and emotions) to line up with that truth not the other way around!
So first you must RECEIVE!
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 says,
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
You see, it says that they chose not to believe the truth! It is time to choose to believe!
2 Treasure His Commands:
I remember when I first got saved. I began to receive God’s word as truth and then I remember that I would fall asleep with My Bible under my pillow.
I literally fell in love with His word. I found out that it was absolutely necessary for me to live a life before the LORD that I wanted to live.
It became MY TREASURE!
His word this year must become more to you than anything else that you deem important, in order to begin to walk in the wisdom of the LORD in every situation.
“Oh taste and see that the LORD is good!”
3 Incline Your Ear:
The phrase “incline your ear” is found 76 times in the Bible and it means to “PAY ATTENTION.”
Sometimes we can go to church, read the Bible, study and do it religiously, but not even know what we read afterwards!
The difference in a relationship rather than religion is that WE PAY ATTENTION!
I often wondered why some people grew in the LORD and others, who at least looked like they had a form of religion, didn’t. It was because they PAID ATTENTION.
In my Bible study that I taught for many years, I would see those who paid attention and those who didn’t. Those who didn’t, would soon be falling away and would wonder why.
It was because they didn’t INCLINE THEIR EAR!
This is a year in which we must not just be Sunday morning Christians, but we must INCLINE OUR EAR TO His Word!
Incline our ear to the revelation that is coming forth from the five-fold ministry. Apply it to our lives! Then we will begin to walk with the mind of Christ!
4 Apply Your Heart to Understanding:
The Word of God says that faith without works is dead.
You cannot just know what the Word says and not apply your heart to understanding.
By that I mean, you must “work the word” to know that it works! You must apply your heart to understand it by walking in it!
If you only say you believe it and don’t do it, how is that believing?
In Hebrews 4:2 it says
“For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
You see, if you do not work the word in your life, it will not profit you!
Some of you ask, “why isn’t things working for me like it does other people?”
It is because you just read the word religiously or heard a prophetic word, but never APPLY YOUR HEART TO UNDERSTANDING!
You go off and say, “Oh, wasn’t that a wonderful sermon…” or prophetic word or however it was given, and then you go looking for the next more popular word and have already forgotten about what was spoken that day!
It is time to Apply Your Heart to understanding and then walk it out in this new year, and then you will gain the wisdom of God as you work His Word!
5 Cry Out for Discernment, and Lift Your Voice for Understanding:
After you become a lover of God’s word and begin to walk out that word in your life, then it is time to begin to cry out for discernment.
The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword and will divide asunder the soul and Spirit.
In other words, it will separate what is of the mind, will, and emotions and what is of the Spirit, so when we cry out for this discernment then God will gladly give it to us!
James says that if any man asks for wisdom, then God will gladly give it to Him.
So cry out to Him for it, and lift up your voice to Him in prayer.
I remember after I had eaten the Word for many months, then I set myself to pray many hours a day and I cried out for understanding.
When that happened! Suddenly the Word of God began to jump off of the page and understanding became mine!
The one thing that I prayed was, “God teach me how to pray and He truly began to give me understanding of what I had been reading.”
This is a year when God is calling many to CRY OUT FOR NEW UNDERSTANDING, AND STRATEGIES!
He is ready to give this to whosoever will if they will just set that time aside!
Make a date with the LORD and then do your best to not break that date!
6 Seek for Her as Silver and Search for Her as Hidden Treasures:
This year it is time to fall in love with the LORD and His word again.
Those who ABIDE IN THE VINE will ask what they will this year and decree a thing and it will be established!
In order to truly abide, you have to consider God’s Word your treasure.
There is nothing in this world that will satisfy us this year like Jesus and His Word and fellowshipping with Him.
You have to make a point of seeking His Kingdom first, then all the other things will be added to you that you need!
Stop seeking things. Stop seeking thrills and seek Him first!
Trust me, He is the most thrilling thing that you will ever find in your life!
The word ‘seek’ in that scripture, literally means to worship Him!
Worship Him again like you did in the beginning! Yes if we do all of these things, we will have went back to our first love!
We will begin to get on fire again and not be lukewarm anymore!
This is the year of returning to your first love again! It is going to be all about Jesus and His presence and glory!
It is time to shift! It is time to seek Him like treasure!
