The Dangers of Religion
These words aren’t “thus saith the Lord” but they came to me after seeking His will concerning how He would have me live my life. These might come on as strong words, but they are thought provoking words, and I am open to your comments concerning this!
I believe this writing is concerning the topic of religious spirits in the church. These spirits are subtle and cunning in their way of deceiving people, which opens the door to all kinds of iniquity making you open to the attack of spirits of judgment. Repentance is the only way to take authority over these spirits in order to be set free from them.
When you give into jealousy, which is the fear of losing something, and competition is the spirit that promotes control, you have given into the spirit of witchcraft.
If we want to please the Lord, we need to cast off all acts of the flesh. The works of the flesh goes hand in hand with serving the enemy for the flesh is at enmity with God. Anything that you do in the name of the Lord that you do in the flesh is an abomination to the Lord. This could include fasting, bible reading, different methods of worship, etc. If they aren’t done out of a pure heart of love for God, then they are out of the realm of deception from the father of lies.
It is better to be stone cold towards God than to do things out of hypocrisy, which is having the outward appearance of holiness when having your heart not right before Him. If we want to have authority over the evil one, then we need to repent of our evil ways and come under the authority of the Lord. Religion is counterfeit; true relationship with Jesus is genuine commitment out of love.
These days are too dangerous to not be under the protection of the Lord. The enemy has made many to believe that they are on the right track when really they are following the enemy right into destruction. Many false cults including Islam are serving the false god of religion, and their zeal in it is breeding hatred, perversion, and all forms of insanity.
To have a sound mind with the fruit of the Spirit flowing through you, you must shake off all forms of religion, and come under the covering of the Savior who is kind, loving, and gives you the freedom to choose to love Him and Him alone. He is the one that will give you the grace to walk in the way that is perfect leading to life. All other paths lead to death and destruction.
So if you seem to not have any victory in your life, have a constant battle to get along with others, constant physical trials, no patience or joy, then I would do a serious heart check to see whom you have been serving. The enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy going about as a roaring lion. He is seeking any one that he has the legal right to. It is like getting healed through a false god. You might temporarily receive relief, but in time you will become oppressed in other areas of your life. The enemy is not a god you can serve and expect to be blessed by for surely he will turn on his prey!
Most of these spirits will either enslave you to tradition and the letter of the law in legalism or they will blind you while you are willfully sinning and make you believe that you are justified in it. These spirits conquer and divide the body of Christ using different issues covered under the guise of law and license.
Many have fallen captive to the trickery of the enemy, and even though they are bound up in chains, they believe that they are free. Beware of the strategies of the enemy for if you give him and inch, he will take a mile. The flesh of man is his greatest weapon against man!
Yolanda Ballard of At The Father’s Feet website shares with you, the body of Christ, the words she’s received quietly sitting at the Father’s feet. I believe Jesus set the example for us to follow. Whenever He could He would come apart from the busyness of the world so that He could quiet Himself before the Father, for that is where He received direction and strength to carry out His will.
