~DIDN’T OUR HEARTS BURN WITHIN US~
Luke 3 24:28-31 “By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, but they begged him, Stay the night with us, since it is getting late. So he went home with them. As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him . And at that moment he disappeared! They said to each other, Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?””
The Lord was showing me tonight that there is so much to learn from these passages of Scripture. Jesus had been explaining the scriptures about Himself to them and after He did they began begging Him to spend the night with them. Soon after they were breaking bread together. Jesus said in Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
The Lord is saying that He is knocking at your door as He speaks His word to you and “IF” you will open the door that He will reveal to you right now many things about who He is but you must open the door to Him. He is saying “I want to come in and dine with you and open your eyes to new revelation of who I am in this hour and in this season.”
These men asked Him to spend the night with them. After their hearts began to burn within them from listening to His words they became hungry and desperate for more of what He had to say! Many right now are being called to spend the night with the Lord in communion with Him. He wants to reveal Himself to many people about who He truly is in this hour but you have never yielded to the sound of His knocking! He wants you to break bread with Him. He wants to commune with you more now in this hour than ever before. He has much to reveal to you about Himself and the things to come in this season!
Galatians 1:15-16 “But when it pleased God who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood.”
God is calling many to separate themselves out to “reveal Himself” to them and through them.
When Jesus sat down to eat with them in what they call the last supper. He said “When you do this do it in remembrance of Me.” Why does He want to break bread with us? Because when we do it and remember what He did for us He begins to reveal Himself to us. He begins to cause our hearts to be set on fire with revelation of who He is to us! He is about to set our hearts on fire with His revealed word!! These men said “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as He talked with us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?” One of the ways that I can always tell if the Lord is speaking to me is that My heart burns within me in longing for more of Him. I just do not want it to stop!! I must hear what He wants to reveal to me! I want to camp right there! As these men opened the door of there heart to Him and begged Him to stay because their hearts were on fire from His words. suddenly their eyes were opened and they realized who He truly was! I believe that God is getting ready to open peoples eyes right now as to who He truly is and as they invite Him to speak to them through the breaking of bread remembering what He did on the cross for them. I believe He wants to reveal Himself through communion with Him!
When I was a few years old in the Lord He began to call me aside to spend a season of seeking His face. As I yielded to His wooing I started out meeting with Him on the floor under a pew at the First Assembly Of God church at 9:00 in the morning and the more I went the more I wanted to be there. I would stay before Him about three or four hours a day. I asked Him to teach me to pray and I thought that I would be doing most of the talking and that most of that would be me asking on behalf of others but little did I know that He would begin to reveal who He was to me and all I would be doing most of the time would be to weep and listen as He showed me how he loved me and how He wanted me to love Him. This season of separation would lay a foundation in my life that would carry me through many storms in the next.
In my life as a Christian I have always remembered Him as I would take communion during prayer time. I would say, “God through your shed blood you have become my righteousness!!” I would see Him as my righteousness and my healer, my deliverer, my sanctification, the God that never leaves me or forsakes me, my banner, my provider and my peace.
As I did this my heart would burn within me and He would begin to give me more and more revelation about each of these characteristics of His nature!! They became truth to me as He would open my eyes to each of His names! As I would believe Him, the tests always came to get me to doubt who He was to me but through the tests, I would learn that He was truly who He said He was as it says in Daniel 11:32, “they that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
As the Lord begins to call you and speak His word to you! Allow Him in. I promise He will open your eyes to who He is as you commune and have fellowship with Him and He will begin to open your eyes to His mysteries and your hearts will burn within you!! Oh, He is real and even when you can’t physically see Him. You will “SEE” Him!

Luke 11:9-13
Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 So I say to you, Ask and [a]keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and [b]keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and [c]keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks and [d]keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and [e]keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and [f]keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
11 What father among you, if his son asks for [g]a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts [h]that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and [i]continue to ask Him!
