Be Still Before The LORD and Wait Patiently for Him
O LORD, You are My God; I will exalt You; I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. 1
Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose. 2
Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it”, said the Lord. 3
Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4
Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. 6
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. 7
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 8
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 9
I Myself will be the Shepherd of My sheep, and I Myself will make them lie down, declares the LORD GOD (Ezekiel 34:15). 10
I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice. 11
For His affection for you is even greater, as He remembers the obedience of you all, how you received Him with fear and trembling. 12
He will bless those who fear the LORD, both the small and the great. 13
And if you will indeed obey My commandments that I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 14
He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil. 15
For at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the LORD and serve Him with one accord. 16
From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, the daughter of my dispersed ones, shall bring my offering. 17
On that day you shall not be put to shame because of the deeds by which you have rebelled against Me; for then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you shall no longer be haughty in My holy mountain. 18
But I will leave in your midst a people humble and lowly. They shall seek refuge in the name of the LORD, 19
those who are left in Israel; they shall do no injustice and speak no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue. For they shall graze and lie down, and none shall make them afraid”. 20
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the LORD. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 21
You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the LORD is at hand. 22
that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. 23
Jesus said, “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God”. 24
The LORD is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 25
But the day of the LORD will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. 26
Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 27
waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 28
But according to His promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 29
Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by Him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 30
And the angel said to Apostle John. Write this: “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to him, “These are the true words of God.” 31
We have hope in the LORD, in the things we have made known to Him through prayer – about our dreams and desires, which have yet to come to pass. And some of us are asking God, “When will You hear me, O LORD? Will You hear me, O LORD?” The LORD is fully aware of our need for a breakthrough, our dream, our desire and He is working in our life 24/7. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is going through your circumstances with you. For that is His promise He gave us, our LORD, our Emmanuel. Praise Him in all circumstances. Seek God earnestly, commit your way to Him and trust Him for your breakthrough is coming. For Greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world! Do not give up on the test of your faith. For without faith, we cannot please God. In our faithfulness and by His grace, God will strengthen us. As you wait upon the LORD, you will begin to see prospect and relief. God’s time is perfect – the fruit we bear in His time of harvest is the sweetest, a spiritual taste, and inward savour, made manifest by His grace.
Our waiting demonstrates our obedience and trust in the Lord which magnifies God’s power and grace, and therefore yields patience; and our patience yields endurance, and our endurance yields strength, breakthrough, redemption, life, freedom, fruitfulness, victory, blessings, peace and joy! Glory to the Lord, our God and King!
You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 32
For this we declare to you by a word from the LORD, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the LORD, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 33
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. 34
Blessed be His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory! Amen and Amen! 35
